I want Jerry to sue and it is the right move. I actually wish he would kick it up a notch and sue for the rights to negotiate his own TV deal, no more living off the Cowboys popularity and increasing TV ratings. He coud argue the other 31 teams are hurting his brand and profit.

Were we listening to the same broadcast?

He said Jerry wouldn't win and Goodell would get his extension, both of which are probably true. At the end of the day, players and owners of other teams aren't losing their minds over Zeke's case. As much as we'd like to see a groundswell of support, most don't see it as their problem. It's simply our problem.
Don't disagree with your points. My third paragraph covers most, if not all, these points.

quite a few of the NFLPA team reps think otherwise and they are the ones that will shape the agenda of the Union at the next CBA

The focus of Schefter's dialogue on Mike and Mike was the threatened Jerry Jones law suit against the NFL.

Fundamentally, Schefter opined that the law suit was nothing more than a power grab - Jerry Jones wants to take over the NFL. There was no mention of the Zeke Elliott case nor any mention of the recent Tom Stokes article "connecting the dots".

I'm paraphrasing here, but the consensus was Jerry had no basis for the lawsuit, didn't have much support amongst other owners, was out of line and that Goodell would ultimately get an extension.

Normally, I am a big supporter of M&M, but in this case, their discourse seemed baised and shortsighted.

I would have no problem with another scab season if thats what it takes to get these players back in line. Its gotten so far out of control the sport is being ruined. And certainly Godell isnt helping anything.

I wanna know how Jerry is out of line here. As probably the most powerful owner, if you feel your "employee" isn't doing a good job (to put it lightly; Jerry feels Gooddell is doing a very poor job), it's within your right to try and oust him.

This was the same fool that got egg on his face several years back with local sports radio station and the JaMarcus Russel contract. They were saying that Russell has a 30 mil guarantee ins his contract and Schefter told them they were wrong and didn't know what they were talking about. Basically told him that he knew more than them and they shouldn't spread false info. They told him the contract was right in front of them but he still told them they were wrong. A day later it was reported that Russell signed a contract with 30 mil guaranteed.

It's Schefter...the bullhorn for the NFL. When you listen to him, you might as well be listening to Goodell.

I am no fan of Jerry but there is one thing he knows: he knows how to generate revenue

It is pretty clear that the NFL had plateaued and will start a downward spiral in part due to decisions made by Goodell

I'm pretty sure the other NFL owners see the same

NFLPA team reps are about 2% of the players. Their job is to represent the needs of the majority. There aren't 40 guys sitting around in 32 locker rooms lamenting how Zeke is being treated.

As for the owners, there are big egos in that club. Some of them probably don't care for Jerry's flamboyant style and are jealous of his wealth. You can bet some are enjoying seeing him squirm.

The majority of the media won't support Jerry...because of monetary allegiances and predicable politics.

So of course...frame it as a power play, demonize the lawyer he hired, blah blah blah...

Jerry has given people plenty of fodder to poke at over the years, so it will be easy to bash him.

The power play angle is so dumb. Yes, this will get him into the Hall of....oh wait! No it will make his franchise more valuable....oh wait! Oh this will make him more influential in the NFL....oh wait. Nope...he cares about the league...Goodell's decisions recently regarding highly political protests have hurt the league and they may never recover from it. THAT is why he is doing this.

The angle of it being a power play or that he is only doing because of Zeke is just not true.

Sounds more like you didn't like the conclusions.

Not liking what someone says is not the same as them being biased.

Precisely. If Jerry has so much support among the owners, why does he need to file a lawsuit?

I agree with him, they don't support the Cowboys, then they must be biased and sent to the Pit of Misery! Someone fill in the rest. LOL

I do not see it as a power grab by Jerry. I see this more of an outing suit against Goodell and the NFL FO, and his culprits. It will, or hopefully make the media report the things they have not been reporting, or not reporting the entire truths.

How many casual fans, and even non fans don't know the entire story on Zeke and how facts were ignored and supposedly not given to Goodell. Now this does not have to do with this particular law suit. But it will bring out all the past and present screw ups. IF the reporters do what they are supposed to do and report all the FACTS like they are supposed to. But I guess that is asking too much in this day and age of tabloid reporting.

Does the the NFL's executive compensation committee's decision have to be ratified by some percentage of all the owners?

To force their hand. Jerry is saying, you are either on my side or not. No more games, stuff just got real for Roger and his cronies.
