I keep seeing people put corner as a need but I don’t understand how. It’s certainly a nice to have for the future but it’s a headache for today.
  1. Diggs
  2. Gilmore
  3. Bland
  4. Mukuamu
  5. Lewis
  6. Wright
  7. Joseph
  8. Goodwin
Who are you cutting, and what opportunities are you giving a rookie to develop? And if we are adding a DB, wouldn’t you rather a safety that can play single high if Hooker gets injured (also in his last year). It’s the one position we don’t have cover for in our secondary.

I don’t see it being a need in the 1st. I can definitely see them trying to steal a talent in the later rounds like they did with Bland. I personally believe they want a reason to rid themselves of the bust called Joseph.

They will be drafting for the trenches in the 1st round unless some how Bijan Robinson falls to 26.

They’re looking hard at 1st WR’s too.. not sure how I feel about that. But I’d def lock down a talent like Bijan w/the 26th pick. Keep him for 5y on a rookie deal.. rinse and repeat.

That said, considering we’re drafting late round, how the draft talent is stacking up, and keeping our immediate needs in mind… I’ll be disappointed personally if the don’t draft a lineman (DL or OL)

Injuries, conrtracts coming up, if an A type prospect is there you take him.
I guess that’s the bit that needs distinction from my perspective. It’s absolutely not a need in the short-term. It’s the opposite.

The same goes for OT and Edge. Those high value positions, if there is a blinking light…sure take them. But do so knowing you’re gonna have to make compromises year one to make it work.

There's always room to get better and create competition. I wouldn't expect a CB too early but a 3rd or later doesn't seem out of the question.

Maybe this is me over thinking it but I think it needs to be either a super talent in the 1st that’s too good to pass up, or a 5th round (or later) value bet that you’d be comfortable cutting from the roster if they can’t beat out the competition. I don’t know though, it’s interesting.

And where does Forbes (30 man visit) fit in?

Shorter answer: I’m not on board drafting a 1st Rd talent that won’t have a chance to start. Essentially wasting 1year

A 1st CB doesn’t won’t start. Unless there is an injury.. but that could be said ab every position

I don’t think we need a cb. But if you don’t think there are scrubs on that list, I don’t know what to tell you

I try not to read too much into the 30 man visit. They've done their homework, know everything there is to know about these players. Watched the combine and the pro days. Now it's time to see how the draft unfolds and what kind of surprises are in store.

I'd be happy to replace Wright or Joseph. They've had chances. Lewis and Gilmore are in the last years of their contracts, so drafting a corner this year makes sense to me.

The whole starting secondary is in a contract year except Dono at SS.

Gilmore maybe 1 and done.
Diggs contract battle.
Lewis last year of his deal.
Bland is solid.
Wright is decent imo, but could be cut.
KJ could be cut.
Mukuamu can play anywhere, so he could fill a Safety role depends on Coaches.

Lol lol lol first place you look at is Joseph, I mean he's been so good we need to cut him! Wright is probably next

Considering the draft capital spent on them, they should at least get their 3 years normally reserved for draft picks before they get tossed aside.

I'd agree with this if there wasn't other issues going on with said player, I'm sure we will find out what else he's doing if and when he's ever off this team. We brought in guys off the street last season and he still couldn't get in the game

Diggs will be up for contract soon and although he likely will be re-signed there’s no guarantee. The Cowboys will be looking at some big contracts coming up with him Parsons and Ceedee. Gilmore will be 33 and may only be here a couple of seasons. He’s not a long term answer. As for Bland he’s a young player that showed potential but the jury is still out.

Gilmore and Lewis gone next season.

Not certain if Mukuamu really staying at CB. They schemed to make it easy for home to play Nickel CB for the last 2 games. He'll have to prove himself at CB.

Some talk that Wright might move to Safety.

Nobody is going to count on Joseph until he proves something.

Goodwin is not an option at CB. In 5 years in Dallas he has played 42 total snaps on defense. Zero in the past 2 seasons.
