I’ve been here at CZ nearly 20 years. Ive always been a “realist”. Never been afraid to be right in the middle and call things how they are. I’ve been labeled a “hater” and a “happy fan” in the same week. Some of you might remember that term.
WTBS, the Toxic Negativity is at an all time high..

So, let’s put it down on the record now. Man up. Admit now that you hate most things about this team and the Cowboys organization. You don’t think this team has a chance. You’re ready to look for a new HC, and send Dak packing. You think Tyrone should retire, Deuce is too small to succeed, Ceedee isn’t top 5, the OL isn’t deep enough, LVE is the worst starting LB in the NFL. Tre is a fraud, the defense is all hype and DQ doesn’t want to be here, Pollard is hiding his pain, Martin is washed anyway, our WR group is a week link, Jerry isn’t a football guy, oh and Dak sucks. These are all things that I’ve seen here this week.

I’m giving you the opportunity to come clean now. Say it now that despite of all your debby downer opinions, if this years team makes a serious run you will take back your words of negativity and enjoy it like the rest of us. No, I’m not talking to you guys who have a good balance. Only to those who are making this place dark and depressed all the time. Do it now and some of us will even let you jump on and enjoy the run. Do it now and prove to the Zone that when this team has a big time year, you’re not a bandwagon fan!!!
I think it is OK to have reasonable criticism of the team and not think everything is rosy all the time. At the same time, people who think the ownership or players that wear a star do no wrong, is just as laughable as those that hate a player/coach/or owners.

If you are willing to have reasonable debate, it's good for everyone. Anyone whose mind can't be changed with facts about a topic (pro/con) are usually on the fringe. I don't actually think there are that many even here. Everyone has their pet issues but I don't think that many on here aren't willing to listen or at least "entertain" another opinion. There are some, and they probably go on ignore lists the most.

Actually, what do I have to do to sign up for being in your "coult"? Big fan of your authoritarian presence and charm!

Seems highly unlikely to me.

Do you do the same in Eagles and Giants forums? Who would do such a thing? Simply coming here and posting about a team I've followed for decades is already enough of a lifewaster for me.
I know a guy that did it on extremeSkins (he was a Dallas fan) and was there for a little while before he got banned. I also know a Denver Broncos fan (I worked with him) who spent as much time as possible on a Raiders forum and would come to work laughing about what he was doing. He would say some of what he said on there, and much of it seemed very familiar.

It happens, I promise you. It says good things about you that you can’t even fathom a reason someone would do it… but it absolutely happens on all the team’s forums.

I’m not quite sure what they get from it… but they love doing it.

That is why I respect the fans from other team’s that join as a fan of another team. I welcome those guys because they’re being honest about who they pull for and that they don’t like the Cowboys. They are just as welcomed here as any Dallas fan, IMO.

Haha maybe so.

I doubt all of them are doing that though.

I think some hate Jerry so much they can’t really pull for any aspect of the team, although they say they do.

Some probably are heading off disappointment like you’re talking about… although those people probably have bigger problems than football…

Some undoubtably are rival fans here to rain on everything Cowboys talked about in here. Or at least to bother Cowboys fans. I’ve talked to several fans of other teams (in real life) who say it isn’t the Cowboys they hate… it is the Cowboys fans they can’t stand.

Some I think, find it more important to get laughs or likes at their sarcastic, cynical takes and just keep posting that way.

So basically, it is one big mix. The only one’s that I even pay much attention to are the rival fans clearly here impersonating Dallas fans. You know the ones that say the Eagles (or whatever team) are great and stick up for their franchise and players no matter what and then say everything Dallas does is crap. It is transparent and will usually get called out.

Those guys are there on every football forum in the United States… they’re just usually banned after they’ve been figured out. Here, there are so many because they haven’t been kicked out so they’ve built up over time.

Anyway, I pretty much ignore those types but I certainly understand other’s calling those guys out. Like I said, I never get called out for being negative when I am. It is the guys who seem to despise everything Dallas that get these kinds of posts about them, and frankly it is warranted.
I think it's a lot of effort for something that's relatively minor, IMO. Won't change a thing unless the rules here change. Otherwise, it's just catharsis. Room for that here too.

If the shoe fits wear it. I’d much rather be whatever it is you tried to call me , than a miserable. negative and pessimistic American foozball fan

I stand corrected! You are a happy-go-lucky, positive and optimistic foozball fan. Congratulations!

When I read the thread title, I thought this was going to be a plea to get Nick Bosa or Chris Jones. Imagine my disappointment.

I got banned after one post at extremeskins like 15 or 20 years ago for defending one of their top members from unfair treatment. I can't remember who that was, who mistreated them, or who banned me. I can't recall what username I had either. Maybe I can find it on the internet archive.

When The Ranch and the former official forum sends its posters, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of shitposts, and they’re bringing those shitposts with us. They’re bringing negativity/schtick. They’re bringing polarizing posters. They’re trolls. And some, I assume, are good posters
As a refugee from The Ranch I appreciate you adding that last remark.

I joined there first in 2002 and the 2004 after forgetting the username. Was a nice place til, the very end. Remember the battles these two forums had on content and posters online.

Whether hater or homer, the curious thing about this place (and beyond) is the absolute need some people have for others to think they way they do and then get so mad if they don't.
I think it's a product of a society that has a lack of tolerance for those with differing opinions. We seem to be preaching tolerance more than ever, but we're less tolerant of those who disagree with us.
