I’ve been here at CZ nearly 20 years. Ive always been a “realist”. Never been afraid to be right in the middle and call things how they are. I’ve been labeled a “hater” and a “happy fan” in the same week. Some of you might remember that term.
WTBS, the Toxic Negativity is at an all time high..

So, let’s put it down on the record now. Man up. Admit now that you hate most things about this team and the Cowboys organization. You don’t think this team has a chance. You’re ready to look for a new HC, and send Dak packing. You think Tyrone should retire, Deuce is too small to succeed, Ceedee isn’t top 5, the OL isn’t deep enough, LVE is the worst starting LB in the NFL. Tre is a fraud, the defense is all hype and DQ doesn’t want to be here, Pollard is hiding his pain, Martin is washed anyway, our WR group is a week link, Jerry isn’t a football guy, oh and Dak sucks. These are all things that I’ve seen here this week.

I’m giving you the opportunity to come clean now. Say it now that despite of all your debby downer opinions, if this years team makes a serious run you will take back your words of negativity and enjoy it like the rest of us. No, I’m not talking to you guys who have a good balance. Only to those who are making this place dark and depressed all the time. Do it now and some of us will even let you jump on and enjoy the run. Do it now and prove to the Zone that when this team has a big time year, you’re not a bandwagon fan!!!
A "bandwagon" fan would have left this circus 15 years ago.
Dak fans are here no matter what as long as Dak gets to play, and they quickly make excuses for his choking.
Us real fans hate what the team has become. We've had Jason Garrett and Marion Barber shoved down our throats, and now it's Dak Prescott (Garrett 2.0), and we've been forced to watch as a once great franchise has been turned into a circus.
We've had to endure so-called fans who think stats matter more than championships, and who are only fans of the uniforms.
The Cowboys finally have the right coach, but refuse to bench the quarterback who has held this team back for six years.
I'll say it- it's not right.
Jerry doesn't deserve a championship, and Dak fans should stop making excuses.

I think it's a product of a society that has a lack of tolerance for those with differing opinions. We seem to be preaching tolerance more than ever, but we're less tolerant of those who disagree with us.
diagree, you think it is about people that disagree??? Not a chance. Its about the whining... the constant whining and crying and crying and whining.

let go of the pre cap days brother.... they are LONG GONE. It is a cap of parity.... learn it, love it, accept it.

Rams in a title and no suck arse. The great dynasty with the greatest coach in history along with that "Patriot way," is not the mediocre way once the golden boy went away.

Te avg Chiefs are now superman all because of 1 man..... it is what it is. Nobody is truly better anymore. "Dynasties," come and go with the luck of your qb.

When The Ranch and the former official forum sends its posters, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of shitposts, and they’re bringing those shitposts with us. They’re bringing negativity/schtick. They’re bringing polarizing posters. They’re trolls. And some, I assume, are good posters
LOL...Oh, there is some truth to this. If only you were there back then, you would know exactly who and what.

So being intolerant of those who constantly whine and cry and cry and whine is better? If they want to express their fanship that way, why not let them or just ignore them? Intolerance is the reason.

I don't care for those who constantly whine, but I also don't care for those who whine about the whiners. My choice most of the time is to just have football discussions and ignore each of those types. Sometimes I fail at that.

For instance, I see no reason for a thread like this and probably should have just ignored it instead of commenting in it. Calling out those who whine serves no purpose, just like calling out those who whine about the whiners.

Do you think calling someone a hater or a homer because you disagree with how they express their fanship accomplishes anything?

Yeah,
As retired military I'm not real keen on anyone trying to regulate my opinion. I fought extremely hard in places that hate this country to try and preserve one of the most precious rights so many Americans take for granted.

And that is freedom of speech.

I've never understood why just not commenting or ignoring someone's opinion with whom you disagree is so hard to understand here.

You're gonna agree with some and not with others.
But to try and regulate how individual personal opinions are shared into a one size fits all narrative ain't what this country is about.

The cliche freedom isn't free is true.
And that freedom of speech principle I fought so hard defending applies to those opinions to whom I agree with as well as to those with whom I don't.

How it started:

Posts like these are an auto-ignore for me, personally.

How it's going:

Then how did you reply if it's on ignore.....

Anything that causes you to see how wrong you are and perhaps discuss football, you’re out on.

Yes, but you auto respond

But you responded

Evidently not...

and here you still are.....lol

You mean how didn't I know to ignore until I saw the post? I dunno! Pretty weird, lol
Some of y'all are just dumb, lol

I think what many here have problems with is when fans say they want the team to win and that they are Dallas fans… and yet literally, all they do is make fun of the team, make fun of the players, and just generally do nothing but say how terrible the Cowboys are. Those seem to be the one’s that get posts like this OP directed at them.

I mean everyone is different… but how do you hate everything to do with the team and then say you’re a fan of it? Particularly when that team is coming off back-to-back 12 win seasons?

It makes no sense… so people call that behavior out.
100+

And props coult44 to a great thread, mainly because it made me chuckle.

I like that they couldnt just let the thread die.. lol

"Dont fly into the light, dont fly into the light..bbbzzzzdd"
And why should we? It's all good fun after all, eh?

So let's put it this way: I don't give a rats arse about regular season performance anymore. I watch the Games, enjoy watching football itself and take notice of the results. But I won't let them get my hopes up anymore until they reach a NFCCG. Not the whole team, but certain positions, ever since 2021 (before they at least had the dignity to have "suckers" written on their foreheads) are pretenders and nothing more.

And I don't give a f*** about what the rest of the forum thinks about this opinion. The Daksters don't define fandom or who is allowed on this site and who isn't. Their entitlement to think that they are the ones who decide what can be written here is nothing but ridiculous and turns them into clowns. In the end we all just have opinions.

Wether this teams wins the SB or not, I don't have to take back sh it as I'm talking about things that have happened and don't pretend to be able to predict the future. And so far they have sucked in the play offs, nothing more, nothing less. I will celebrate them AFTER they have done anything worthwhile, not before. Not after almost three decades of mediocrity.

So, that's that. Once again waiting for the season to start in January and having fun with 17 more pre season games until then. :)

If Dak wins the SB this year and has a great season, YOU will jump on and act like you were a super fan the entire time!

I have yet to meet ONE fan who is a “Dak” fan who would roll with Dak if he weren’t the starting QB of the DC. All the “Dak fans” I’ve ever talked to, even the horrible ones who think he’s Gods gift, care about the team more than the player.

The problem LB, is you haven’t been forced to do anything!!! In fact, I’d venture to say you probably don’t even willingly give anything more than yiur time, to be a fan. How many games do you go to? Season tix? Road games? Sunday Tickets? Merch? You know good and well you don’t spend, nor have you ever spent much money on the team? They don’t owe you anything if you haven’t, and even then it’s questionable. But “force you” to be a fan, to be entertained, to pay attention, that’s laughable and it proves how ridiculous your stance is…

“Real fans” are ride and die. “Real fans will tell you how much you sucked yesterday, but cheer for you until they are blue in the face tomorrow. “Real Fans” will cry after a loss, and cry more after a playoff win. Real fans don’t bash the team every chance they get, and real fans actual give more to the team than just my cheers. Go spend some money big fellla. And find some peace while you’re at it.
Come back when you have a better perspective.

This is an alien concept to me. I can't imagine why anyone would want to spend time on a website discussing a team they hate with people who love the team so much that they spend a significant amount of time watching them, discussing them and treating them as an important part of their lives. That's why, for all practical purposes, I have to reject the concept.

If you believe your children have done something wrong and you criticize them for it, does this mean that you hate them? Of course not. You love you children and that is why you scold them. You don't want them doing something that you deem is harmful to their health, future, quality of life, whatever. If you didn't care then you wouldn't bother with the time it takes to help them correct their mistakes.

Now, does that mean that, as a parent, you are always right. You may have authority over your children but that doesn't automatically mean that you are Mr. Perfect. Parents make mistakes too, but their intentions were out of concern and love.

And I'm not saying that being a fan of the Cowboys has the same importance or commitment, I was just looking for something most of us have in common and using it as a comparison.

Football fans are almost always wrong when it comes to personal opinions about what their team should do or the status of the players for those teams. However, we have opinions about the Cowboys because we care to the degree that we wish we had the power to fix whatever the issue is.

Obviously, there is no such thing as Mr. Perfect Fan. It could be that our opinions are the exact opposite for what would result in success. Yes, there is no such thing as Mr. Perfect Fan just as there is no such thing as Mr. Perfect Parent.

Many of us have been fans for decades, Season after season for so long, a fan begins to detect tendencies in their team or it's management and it can be frustrating. It can create a skepticism that some of us use to protect us from the "agony of defeat".

Is skepticism, doubt or frustration the same thing as hatred. Of course not.

In fact, I find that a fan who describe other fans feelings about their team as "hatred" often have an agenda that has been challenged by the "hater". Calling other fans "haters" is an attempt to cancel their opinions when they conflict with his. It is a deliberate and false exaggeration of the other's perspective.

We live in a world were constructive discussion with it's disagreements and debates, cannot be resolved by the willingness to consider the other's side's opinion and make a fair assessment in comparison to our own. There is sometimes so little middle ground that we label each other as the extreme example of our perspectives. If we have a differing opinion, it is never slight, it is always extreme, ultra, far to the other end of the spectrum and that is wrong.

There is no such thing as a Dallas Cowboy fan who hates the Dallas Cowboys. The degree of contradiction in that accusation is so ridiculous that it's the accuser who should be criticized. I'm not saying this should apply to the OP because this has been going on for so long that many accept it as normal.

The word "hate" is supposed to be used for an intense degree of dislike to the point where there is ill will towards the recipient of this hatred. Therefore, it is absolutely the wrong word to use when describing a fan who criticizes some player or aspect to the team. The word destroys meaningful discussion and debate.

You really don't understand the game, do you?
Real fans do, and they chose the Cowboys because of the level of play that this organization once demanded.
You guys are happy with 8-8; now 8-9.
That's not a fan. That's just enjoying watching the uniforms.
And by the way: the Cowboys WON'T win the Super Bowl this season unless Jerry writes one of those "insane" checks he talks about- to someone other than the players.
Kinda like how the Cowboys beat the Lions, Texans, and the Colts last year, despite getting outplayed the entire game.
Like when one referee was about to signal a touchdown for the Lions and another one stopped him.
Kinda like how the Texans gave the game BACK to the Cowboys for no good reason.
Kinda like watching the Colts suddenly self destruct.
That's what the Cowboys are about now.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
opinions like this show up every year for the past twenty years.
exactly where has that gotten us twinkle toes?
This team is 2 major moves away from glory and both pieces
are already on the team. Relax and enjoy the defense.
