I think he’s a better signing than Jourdan Lewis, and the Cowboys are paying him $5.5 million a year. I would have thrown in a few million more to sign Jackson.

We're paying Lewis $2.6 million this year. Next year, it goes up to $4.6 million, but we could save $2.3 million by cutting him. His last year he'd make $6.16 million but we'd save $5 million by cutting him so he's not going to see that year.

His price for this year falls in line with what the Joneses are willing to pay. Think we could get Jackson for $3 million or less?

I've seen some fans pointing out players who got 1-year, $5 million contracts and wondering why Dallas didn't attempt to sign them. The Cowboys' deals have been around $1,75 to $2.6 million tops in pay for 2021.

I thought the same thing regarding returning punts. I was shocked to see he hasn’t had much success there as he was an absolute dynamo at USC.

Ya, that was a big draw for him in 2017. However his production has been about average to just sub average. He was pretty raw as a CB. Maybe a bigger focus in defense took away from prep as a returner

Question:

IMO CB is a possible 1st pick. Farley or Surtain. If they sign Jackson, CB is no longer an early pick?

I think the Cowboys are trying to keep from forming their hand in the draft and stick with their draft board.

If they stick to their draft board the first two picks could be Slater and Humphrey.
