Ha and it's not Friday!

Adrian Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, said he doesn't "think it's in the best interests of Adrian Peterson to play for the Vikings."

The two sides appear to be on complete opposite sides of the spectrum. The Vikings have stated countless times how much they want Peterson back with the team in 2015, while Peterson's camp has erred on the side of caution, refusing to believe what's coming out of the Vikings' higher-ups mouths. Peterson reportedly felt betrayed by the Vikings last season during his child-abuse incident. This thing looks like it's headed for an inevitable divorce in the near future.

If the Vikes cut him, what is their cap hit? I think they cut him after the draft to avoid a toxic situation with their young QB.

Going off memory but I think 2 million maybe less..

Here you go from another article...Peterson counts $15.4 million against the salary cap, and the Vikings can clear $13 million by cutting the star running back

Im so tired of this. Until he is cut he is a Viking, the Cowboys will not trade for him, at least they better not unless he significantly reduces his deal to come play here. Until then, this is all just speculation. I enjoy it, but its getting to be ridiculous now.

The vikes hold all the cards. Till they don't ..... He is a Viking

I don't see the Vikings sitting on this.

The draft is approaching.

Expect us to offer up a trade to Minny with AP agreeing to redo his deal and come to Dallas.

I'm not sure what draft pick would be appropriate.

Our no 1 at 27 could be enough but I would not want to see that as we need a DL in the worst way.

But AP would be quite an upgrade for our offense.

Just think what it will be like when he gets here.

@Edwerderespn: The fact @AdrianPeterson sees the opening in #Cowboys RB spot with @DeMarcoMurray gone could be reason agent increasing pressure on #Vikings

I disagree I think he holds the cards but that is just my opinion.

Both sides have a bit of leverage this season. The Vikes, in that they can afford to pay him for a year and see what he'll do. He's unlikely to sit out, and he actually reportedly likes Zimmer and his teammates, so he probably won't cost himself the fines necessary to tube the whole season. And he can't really afford to sit out two full (basically full) seasons at his age and hope to come back and have a shot at the record books.

On the flip side, he's got that $44M contract worth of leverage. That's a lot of leverage. And they aren't going to keep him for three years at that current price. They can't trade him, and they don't really want the huge distraction at this point in the new regime. It makes the most sense to flip him for what they can get and to move on.

Either way, he's going to keep ratcheting up the rhetoric as we get closer to the draft. This is about to get more acrimonious, I think, as he starts doing what he can to shake loose.

What I'm really curious about is why hasnt AD at least considered restructuring his deal in order to get out of there? His contract is literally the only reason why no team is trading for him.

If he wants out so bad, his fastest ticket to Dallas is agreeing to a lesser deal. The only thing that I can come up with is that he's trying to sabotage enough to get released so he can have his pickings to chose. I think the more the Vikes dont budge, the more willing he might be to renegotiate his contract

Can the draft hurry up and get here so these discussions can stop. Or will they continue even if we get Gurley/Gordon

At this point I see him being a draft day trade.

I do too, which means he'll likely go for less than what the Vikings want unless some team jumps the gun.
