I think Murray was a fine back. We hit in the draft with Murray. I also think Murray brings a lot of intangibles that are really good for a team and organization. I am glad Murray is doing well...

But speed is speed. And Murray in the open field compared to Peterson, is no brainer....

And he is trying to argue that they are equal in the open field. Im not sure what his point is in arguing this though? I guess its to say Peterson isnt all that.........?

A jet !!!!:yourock:

I know my opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but none of the opinions expressed in this thread has any effect of the outcome of this situation. I don't want to see Dallas trade anything more than a mid-round pick for AP and I don't like the big hit to the salary cap that AP will cause. He is a 30 year old RB and signing him would be reversing the smart , youth movement that gives Dsllas such a bright, long-term future.

lol, my phone does the same thing on auto-correct

your opinion probably means more then mine. But I wouldn't go around bragging about that:)

But I would offer a little bit more. only because i think it will take more to get him here. Otherwise, AZ is going to step up. Just a guess of mine....just a guess.

Please go to Tampa, please!

And it's been reported since about mid-March the interest Tampa has had in Adrian. I think, if anything, this just tells us they are the one team for sure that is after AD.

I'm sure that pic was taken to get people talking and maybe even start a bidding war. Highly doubt there's anything substantial to it because we haven't heard anything leaked at all and it would be too risky for an agent to put that out there before the team made a deal.

LMAO. I am going to laugh so hard if he goes to Tampa. All these folks sure he was going to Dallas. If he ends up in Tampa it will be funny as hell. I hope they overpay for him as well.

DeSean verified my opinion of him with this stunt that he pulled. He is/was a selfish thug. I blame Big Andy for allowing him to remain on the field. He should have been benched and this was one case that I would have supported the HC throwing a player under under a bus.

You and me both bro................If I was a head coach and I saw one of my receivers just jogging his route like he didn't even give a dam............I pull him from the game an go off on him in the post game presser.

Why would you be laughing?

Everybody here wants what is best for the team, do you think anybody is going to be on a message board in the middle of the freaking offseason that is not a die hard fan? Some fans just differ on how best to improve the team, some think getting AP would put the team over the top and some think a rookie RB is more than enough and some just want to draft defense and don't care about the RB position. However, the bottom line is that we all want what is best for the team to help the team win as many games as possible. Now just because the team may decide to go in a certain direction, I don't get why you would laugh at the fans that think another option is better.

That would be like me saying, "when McFadden or our mystery rookie gets stuffed in the backfield on 4th and 1 and we lose the division because of it, I am going to be laughing my arse off at the fans that said anybody could run behind this line".

I am going to laugh because I think AP being elsewhere is better for the team unless we get him for a bargain deal and a late round pick. I don't see that happening so I will be very happy if he stays in Minnesota or goes to Tampa.

Plus, I think AP is being immature as hell. I hate seeing players pulling stunts like this. He signed a contract to play for the Vikings. The Vikings have done nothing wrong that I can see. He doesn't want to play for them despite them paying him $13 million a year? Cry me a river. Free agency is bad enough in the NFL. Players move around constantly and it is hard to root for players because you know they may move on soon. Now you want them to be able to pull stunts like this and get their way? To hell with that. I hated it when Ratliff pulled it. I hated it when Orton pulled it. And I hate it when Peterson pulls it. Just because he isn't a Cowboy when he did it does not mean I would ever condone nor want to see it.

I hope he is traded to Tampa Bay. Tampa gives up a ton for him and then they proceed to stink for the next 5 years. That would be the perfect scenario in my mind.

Even though I disagree, I think AP would put us over the top, I respect your opinion.

Let me ask you this; throwing out that it is Peterson involved in this. Throwing out that it could possibly be the Cowboys who benefit. Do you really want players to be able to get away with this and benefit from this? Do you really want to see the NFL cave to players who try to dictate to a team who they will play for regardless of whether they are under contract or not? I don't want to see that happen. Not at all.

I don't want to see Peterson benefit from this because I don't want to see other players pulling it in the years to come. Switch it around. What if Dez decides he wants to go to another team in 3 years, even after signing a long term contract? I think Peterson getting what he wants harms the NFL in the long term. Yeah, it may help the Cowboys in the short term or Tampa Bay or whatever team gets him but long term, I think it harms the game.

You make some good points bro....................yea, I would not be too happy if Dez decided he wanted out even after signing a long term deal.

Thank you, sir.

I think the people wanting Peterson here are looking at the short term and I can not really blame them for that. Short term it really, really looks great. Cowboys get a phenomenal RB, build upon last season with a strong running game and an improved defense with Hardy and Lee in the lineup. Possibly win a Super Bowl. That sounds great. Sign me up!

But long term? That is a different story. We may be stuck with an aging RB for the next 4 years and we could be paying him big money. Of course, it depends on the contract he would agree too but that is a possibility. We will have to give up draft picks, possibly multiple. That also has an impact on the long term future of the team.

Finally, what I said above is long term as well. Every time a player, especially a big name player, gets away with something like this, it inspires other players to do the same. I don't want to see Dez deciding he had been 'disrespected' (which is Peterson's excuse) and trying to force a trade. I don't want to see another defensive lineman decide he doesn't like a coach here and trying to get out even when he is under contract. It is bad for NFL, it is bad for the game and, in the end, it will be bad for the Cowboys.

Hell yeah, I worry about it. I have watched football since the late 70s and every generation it has gotten worse. Free agency, rule changes, the salary cap and other BS have combined to make it a worse game than it once was. Players being able to force their way off of a team because they don't like it there or they were disrespected or for no reason at all, will make the game even harder to watch.

You laugh but, if players start doing this regularly and getting away with it, I guarantee you will be posting on here about how much it sucks. It is hard enough to get attached to players with free agency and the salary cap, I can't imagine how bad it would be if players were able to force teams to move them at will.

But if the Vikings were to walk away from Peterson's contract and cut him?

That's business!

Funny about how that 'one-way street' works...

Its not a one way street. The club still has to pay whatever money was guaranteed. That is written into the contract.
