I'm not predicting that I'm saying they have a chance to be a much improved team, how good? I don't know nor do you.
Hell last season you told me Dallas would not beat the seahawks or the saints no way. You were wrong, so forgive me if I don't your prognostication skills as the word of God. lol

Can we drop the 'lol's' in our conversations and just talk like adults? Is that too much to ask? They're derogatory and unappreciated but if you want to get into argument territory where mods have to babysit, just let me know.

As for predictions? No, you were absolutely right about that and I was absolutely wrong. I'll own that, and gladly so. If my favorite team winning means I was wrong, I'm great with that. I'll be wrong all day long. It won't be the first time, it won't be the last time.

But I think you're saying just what I'm claiming here. The 2015 Minnesota Vikings aren't good enough to win a Super Bowl, with or without Peterson.

As for Dallas I don't want to give up a top pick and pay 8 mill to a 30 year old RB period end of story. I think it is stupid to live on Peterson past glory, he did not look all that damn special in 2013 and now a season removed forgive me but I would not give up a 3rd and damn sure would not pay him any more than 2 mill with incentives put in place.

OK, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that.

We have gone from Peterson talking to Jerry one day saying he would like to finish his career in Dallas. So everyone starts up with the hometown discount, now all of a sudden it is giving up a 2nd and paying him 8 million? LOL NO fricken way!!!!

Duly noted.

Everyone is talking about petersons age. And to draft one of the top backs. I find this interesting because Gurley had a similiar injury to Peterson and is taking longer then he did to recover. So sorry but the age position is moot at best. Peterson is not a normal human being lol

Gurley isn't taking longer than AP. Where did you get that from? Lol he is expected to be ready for TC (he got hurt in November.) That is just 5 months so far.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Well, there we go.

If that's the case, we'll just have to move on and look to fill our needs in the draft and let the Vikings grossly overpay a guy who doesn't want to be there.

That might be a stretch. He might have bruised feelings and hate the VP, but he has no issues with Spielman, Zimmer or his teammates. I think people are overplaying the acrimony because they want it to be that way.

Drafting a RB seems like a real possibility now. Vikings are killing every chance they have to move AD

Oh but he is lol. And to assume he's not.....and to waste draft picks and money to figure out? It would be different if we're talking about a free agent. We're talking about someone we have to trade for him. It would be incredibly stupid even if AP could still play. Its just a stupid move.

Well, nothing that neither he nor his agent have said indicates he wants to remain there. If he did, he sure had every opportunity to clear things up.

I think the 'stretch' would be in thinking otherwise.

I see the whole thing as a shame really, if Speilman is in fact telling the truth.

I think it's a waste of the Vikings' resources and a missed opportunity to get out from under that contract and actually get a draft pick or two.

And I think it's a waste of what's left of a Hall of Fame career to toil away in Minnesota, never winning a championship, while likely getting released next year while the Vikings get nothing.

It's looking more and more like Spielman is going to stand firm out of spite.

It's disappointing, but oh well.

Now he has to make it work with the player who doesn't want to be there while justifying passing up draft compensation and paying that disgruntled player considerably more than any running back in the league.

His funeral.

He won't be the first GM to make a career-ending mistake and he won't be the last.

There's always ESPN next year!

Not sure it's going to be viewed as a mistake unless Peterson pulls a Ratliff. Ownership will buy the excuse that you don't trade an elite player for anything but a 1st or premium talent in return.

And would you then expect the Vikings to keep Peterson in 2016 for $15 million?

Give me 'All Day' over anyone other than Gurley or Tevin Coleman all day, every day.

And when I'm otherwise paying an afterthought like Lance Dunbar over $1.5 million, I have little problem paying a Hall of Famer like Peterson $8 million.

AP is due to make 13 million, 15 million, and then 17 million over the next 3 years. His greatest chance of actually seeing this money, or anything close to it is to stay in Minny. People who think he is going to take a FIVE TO NINE MILLION DOLLAR PAYCUT PER YEAR to put a stupid star on his helmet, are absolutely delusional. Let that sink in. 5-9 million per year pay cut. AP knows this is his last big contract. He will never see this type of money again. He is going to want the biggest payday he can possibly get before he retires. ALL OF US WOULD TOO !!!! Does he want to be traded??? Probably. Is he willing to take a 5-9 million dollar pay cut per year to do so???? Of course not. Get over it fellas. 179 pages of posts for something that isn't going to happen.
