To find out what they want for Peterson and if he is willing to negotiate his contract.

We wouldn't need to discuss anything with MIN about his contract that would be done directly with Dogra. MIN already told everyone what they wanted.

MIN will be the one calling us for a trade. Not us calling them.

I completely agree with your mindset and timeframe. The window is open for two year, three at best. And then it closes. And I don't care what else they get right between now and then. Romo leaves, it's closed.

If you cane get the best running back in football for anything less than a first round pick, you do it. And then you can draft cheaper eventual replacements next year. Fill your remaining needs with what you have otherwise in this year's draft.

I'm with you 100%

Brandon Carr ring a bell? If he has no desire to restructure we are going to cut him anyway.

I'd prefer to make him a June 1st cut to mitigate the cost of cutting him, but you're right, that might be an option.

I don't think we should look at Romo leaving as the closing of the window.

That being said, I think people are premature in concluding he only has two years left.

The goal of this team should be to build the best team around Romo and for Romo to leave his successor with said best team.

Dude a bad back is a bad back. One bad hit and he is done. Age catches up to everyone. I would be shocked if Romo makes it beyond 2 years, and even if he does he will be a shell of his former self. With Romo gone it isn't necessarily the closing of a window but it very well could be. Whoever takes over at RB will have a great team around him but you're only as strong as your weakest link.. and if the guy sucks.. we are screwed.

A herniated disc doesn't make for a structurally weak back. Age isn't reducing his abilities, if anything he is still becoming a better QB. To suggest he only has 2 years left is wildly speculative and baseless.

I don't think we should look at Romo leaving as the closing of the window.

I don't see how it remains open.

He's 35 years old today, with a bad that's had surgery not once, but twice. Counting on anything more than 2 years is overly optimistic in my opinion, and borderline foolish.

The goal of this team should be to build the best team around Romo and for Romo to leave his successor with said best team.

To me, building the best team around him would very much include adding the best running back in the NFL to fill the obvious void we now have.

And unlike many others, I don't see how adding Peterson prevents you from otherwise improving the team for the future.

It did for me.

And it continues to feel worse as I age.

Do you have the condition to be able to speak on it so authoritatively?
