Just posting the latest. I don't agree with his opinion that it hinges on tonight. I really don't see Minn taking Gurley there. Speilman is very high on McKinnon. Not comparing the two just stating what he has said about the guy he hand picked last year.

Plus if Gurley is there MIN would be stupid not to take him. I'll give you great comparison. Andrew Luck. I rest my case.

I get the talent level I just don't see them passing on a CB. We will find out tonight! Should be a rocking first part of the draft. Rumors are flying like crazy right now.

Not just the talent level. The fact that they are in the same position that Indy was with Manning when Luck was available. Let that sink in.

They won't be in this position again. Having a prime opportunity to draft AD's replacement, rid themselves of that salary, trade AD for some kind of package and still get a viable DB in the 2nd rd. They'd be completely foolish to pass up Gurely.

Make no mistake here Dallas is still very much in play for AD

I wouldn't, but that makes the deal less intriguing to me. I don't think we have any players we can afford to trade that have any value.

Brandon Carr ring a bell? If he has no desire to restructure we are going to cut him anyway.

Given the spread, I think it would be a 2nd and a 3rd.

I'm holding true to my original prediction:

A 4th rounder this year and a conditional pick for 2016 (a 4th than could become a 2nd based on performance)

With Peterson getting a 3-year $25 million contract with half guaranteed

McKinnon isn't a lead back he's a CJ Spiller type (injuries included). If Gurley is there for them they would be foolish not to take him and deal AD. Gurley is head and shoulders above any other rb in this draft.

The thing is even if by some outside shot they call us, would we even know what Peterson is willing to negotiate his salary down to?

I have all but given up on getting Peterson because I think he isn't on the radar for the Cowboys. That blows my mind too.. we upgraded the defense by adding Hardy, getting Lee back, having DL in his second year healthy, and whatever we get in the draft and then we are just going to roll the dice with some random rookie not named Gurley or Gordon at RB? What in the hell are they thinking? The time to win a super bowl is RIGHT FREAKING NOW.

He is very much on the radar. You'll have your answer really soon.

I completely agree with your mindset and timeframe. The window is open for two year, three at best. And then it closes. And I don't care what else they get right between now and then. Romo leaves, it's closed.

If you cane get the best running back in football for anything less than a first round pick, you do it. And then you can draft cheaper eventual replacements next year. Fill your remaining needs with what you have otherwise in this year's draft.

I think we have a pretty darn good idea.

I suppose you're right. But if the reports are right about us not even calling Minny it does make me wonder a bit. It sounds like they only way they would even consider Peterson is if Minny called us offering something we couldn't refuse. Seems like a big time long shot in my opinion.

Why do we need to call MIN?

Agreed completely. They could take Peterson now and even get another RB in the mid rounds to potentially develop if they wanted to. Getting Peterson instantly makes us better than we were last year and we were pretty freaking good last year. With the additions I named earlier on defense, that makes us a super caliber team. I have never been a huge fan of Romo, but even I realize he is a good QB and that in 1 to 2 years he is done and no telling what we get then. We could get lucky and get a Wilson type QB or we could get a really bad QB.. you just don't know. You can't roll the the dice on that when you have a chance to go to make it to a super bowl now.

For all the Cowboys fans that LOVE Romo and want to see him get a super bowl, I can't for the life of me understand why they wouldn't want to go all in NOW. It's like they are in denial and think Romo is going to last forever or something. They can't separate the difference of the past when Jerry reached for player when we were not a super bowl team vs now when we are a super bowl team and just need one or 2 players to get there.

I agree. You pull the trigger on adding the best RB in the league for any pick except a 1st this year. I could live with a 1st next year because we have enough comp picks to deal back into the high 2nd or late 1st rd. Plus I'm arrogant enough to believe that adding AD equals us having the 32nd pick next year.

Peterson will not be traded today, they will try but it won't be successful. This will go well into camp and not be decided until then.

That is my prediction................
