So you're telling me if you're on a "gag order" you go around announcing something is going to happen, but you can't go into detail? It screams the guy is just looking for attention.

He's another ESPN $%*clown and about as credible as Ray Lewis' take on violence. Everything we hear today should be taken with a grain of salt unless its from PJTHEDOORS

I'm not saying he is or he isn't what I am saying there is a good chance he may know something. I just don't get how the non AD crowd only takes their own opinion as fact and anyone pro as worthless. I'm gonna side with the All Time Rushing Leader's stance on AD over anyone elses. Something tells me he knows a heck of a lot more about the RB position and running behind a great OL than anyone on here. I haven't heard him endorse the current regime or any rookie like he has AD.

This is not what I am arguing at all, but I will take the bait.

The "non AD" crowd are basing their opinion on facts and stats while the "pro AD" crowd are basing their opinion on speculation and hope. I am not saying it will definitely go one way or the other, but there is a more rational side to the argument.

I want to first state that Emmitt Smith is my favorite player of all time and is one of the greatest players of all time. Saying that, I would take what he has to say with a grain of salt. Just because he was a great player does not mean he is great at player evaluation. I am confident Smith has not looked at ADs medical record or spent everyday working out with him. Smith can also not look into the future to tell us if AD has hit a wall or not. I would also not trust Smith with running a football team. He does not know how to run a football team, I don't believe he ever said what he would give up for AD.

Saying all of this, I would take AD for a 4th rounder and a pay cut.

Plus Smith wasn't asked about the RB situation in that interview. He was asked specifically about the prospect of AD joining the Cowboys.

Yep and as he has stated biggest mistake he ever made. The only good thing that came from that move he had exactly the same rushing yards his last year as he did his first.

That was a joke. Since some think without a doubt AD is going there

Good points. I don't believe AD coming to Dallas is all hope and speculation for me or for the ones who have been here since the beginning. There has been plenty of pro articles and direct quotes from AD's agent and himself that bring more than hope or speculation. I agree though, slight chance it may be based on what we have heard from the Jones's recently. I also hear what your saying about 22 and his evaluation but unless you are an actual NFL former or current player I think their stance on the game trumps all our opinions combined. That is just my opinion though. Great return though and a great example to some of the other's on what a debate means.

The Chicago Tribune's Dan Pompei is hearing the "chances are very slim" of Adrian Peterson getting traded.
Pompei admits "things can change in a hurry, though." ESPN's Adam Schefter hinted this morning on Mike & Mike that there's a chance Peterson gets traded, but any potential deal will be off the table if Peterson is not dealt during Thursday night's first round. We see A.P. as 50:50 or worse to be traded.

ESPN's John Clayton reported Thursday that Jacksonville is "out" of the running for Adrian Peterson.
Clayton confirmed a Yahoo report that Dallas is "out," as well. He added that the Cardinals are "not willing to give up a No. 1 (pick)." Vikings GM Rick Spielman is known to be holding out for a first-round pick in exchange for Peterson. Peterson is only going to get dealt if Spielman's asking price drops.

So "everybody" is out with a 1st round pick.

Improves our chances
