Here is someone I didn't think of before David Johnson in the 3rd or 4th round.

I must admit I don't know a thing about him. If they don't get one of Coleman, Yeldon, or Duke I am gonnna be bummed....on a side note you see where mj is posting in the stacy thread about willing to trade a 5 or 6 for stacy! Was he not pretty dead on about not even giving that up for AD? Crazy!

Yeah This guy named David-kind of like that name, but David Johnson is a big guy who I think behind our line could be a big time player. Not a guy that's going 6o yards a lot , more like hard nose Emmitt running .

Just wait till we don't take a RB today. Dogra/AD's latest should tell the pro crowd what we have believed all along. They want out and Min doesn't want to pay him. The just backed Spielman into a corner.

Peterson’s agent shifts gears, wants Vikings to show him the money
Posted by Michael David Smith on May 1, 2015, 10:35 AM EDT

Adrian Peterson’s agent is no longer saying he wants out of Minnesota. He’s now saying he wants more money to stay in Minnesota.

Ben Dogra, who has previously said it’s not in Peterson’s best interest to stay with the Vikings, now says that he understands the Vikings will not get rid of Peterson.

“One of the things that I appreciate with the Vikings is their resolve to say ‘we’re not trading him,'” Dogra told USA Today. “That tells me they value him not only as a football player, but what he’s done for the organization. I actually, as an agent, not only appreciate it — I accept it. But actions speak louder than words. If that’s going to happen, and you want to keep him, then show him a commitment to make him retire as a Viking. And I haven’t had that solution.”

When an agent says he wants a team to show a player a commitment, what he means is that he wants the team to show him the money. But the Vikings are already scheduled to pay Peterson $46 million over the next three years, making him the highest-paid running back in the NFL. It’s just not realistic to think the Vikings will give Peterson a raise, and it’s hard to see any reason the Vikings should agree to guarantee that money.

Instead, the Vikings will tell Peterson that he needs to play under his current contract. Dogra now seems to be acknowledging that Peterson will do that.

I don't agree with Michael David Smith's interpretation of these quotes. Nowhere, does it say he wants 'more money' but that he's looking to have his future guaranteed. And if the Vikings truly mean what they say about keeping him, to put their money where their mouth is and prove it, by giving Peterson financial security, in the form of guaranteed money.

If the Vikings have every intention of honoring the contract, why wouldn't they make this gesture to smooth things over?

If they intend to pay him $45 million over the next 3 years, what is the harm in giving him some of that up front?

The guy stated he wants out of minny. Minny would be dumb to guarantee anything.
