I don't agree with Michael David Smith's interpretation of these quotes. Nowhere, does it say he wants 'more money' but that he's looking to have his future guaranteed. And if the Vikings truly mean what they say about keeping him, to put their money where their mouth is and prove it, by giving Peterson financial security, in the form of guaranteed money.

If the Vikings have every intention of honoring the contract, why wouldn't they make this gesture to smooth things over?

If they intend to pay him $45 million over the next 3 years, what is the harm in giving him some of that up front?

Exactly. Spielman put they money where your mouth is

The guy stated he wants out of minny. Minny would be dumb to guarantee anything.

How is it "dumb" if it substantiates what they're claiming - that they want to keep him - and smoothes things over with both player, agent, and team?

There is something about this thread that keeps me coming back, but at the end of the day I don't know why this thread is still going on.

Dude we are going to have Joseph Randle as a starter... think about that for a second.

Behind this line it won't matter. Joseph will only hold up for a few games before breaking down. But that doesn't matter either. We will put McFadden in , or someone off the practice squad. And by mid season the rookie will be ready and can take over, and lead us into the Super Bowl!

Hey garsh darn it, the Patriots do it, we can too by golly gee whiz.

Well, thats our plan anyway. And, we will be consider masters of the salary cap game! Salary Cap gurus!!

• I have always thought Friday of draft weekend would be the last, best chance for theVikings to make an Adrian Peterson deal. They were never getting a first-round pick for him but, if Peterson is willing to play for less than he is scheduled to make, someone might ship a second-round pick and a lil' somethin' else Minnesota's way. There's a lot of time between the morning and when picks start being made and a team might decide it's worth going with a 30-year old Peterson instead of one of these much younger, much cheaper alternatives available in the draft ... then again, um, yeah, the odds don't look great.

So now that the first two days of the draft are over, the dream of AD coming to Dallas is still on life support... for a 4th and a pay cut.
