In the past, going all in hasn't worked so well. If it does pay off with a Super Bowl, that would be great, but I don't want one Super Bowl every twenty years. For the first time since Jimmy left, this team is showing signs of being a well run organization with long term plans of sucess. I would much rather see the Cowboys be a legit Super Bowl contender every year like the Pats. I know the standard response is going to be that the team's sucess is over once Romo retires. There is no reason for that statement to be true if the team plans for Romo's departure and have a capable QB to take his place. I am not ready to go all in for one or two years and then throw in the towel when there will still be a lot of talent on the team such as Dez and a young oline that is considered to be the best in the league . That is too much talent to give up on and not be prepared to use those players for long term success. As an older fan, I liked the feeling of having a legit chance to win it all every year. I would rather plan for the long term instead of putting all my eggs in one basket for a two year period. I am sure that some fans will disagree, but that would change with a string of playoff appearances and a couple Super Bowl wins.
