Maybe you're spoofing us...

But this makes absolutely no sense to me.

Morris is signed for another year and I'm pleased as punch with resigning McFadden, who'll be a heck of a lot less costly than Peterson.

I'm in complete agreement with you.

I was one of the fans banging the drum for a Peterson trade two years ago (or whenever it was), but that ship has sailed, or in the Vikings' case, sunk. They could have unloaded him and that ridiculous contract and actually gotten something in return. Now, they're simply forced to release him and get nothing.

But he's got no place in Dallas at this point. In fact, based on what he looked like when he did play in 2016, he's in for a rude awakening when it comes to available jobs and teams willing to pay him anything close to what he thinks he's worth.

Adrian Peterson is at a true crossroads in his career.

Lol, awful reporting....... I can't see Peterson accepting a backup role nor Elliott splitting carries with him. The only reason this is a story is because Peterson is a Cowboys fan and expressed interest when they needed an RB.

If his playing days were over and the Cowboys needed a backup this may make sense, but I think he has two more years he could be a starter. Resigning Mcfadden makes much more sense from a cost perspective.

I'm not sure that it's "reporting" at all, but instead a 'news guy' who makes his living getting the inside scoop now doing an agent a favor behind the scenes by attempting to drum up interest in his client where none truly exists.

But I think it's a clear example of falsifying information as the truth.

You and I both were on the bandwagon hard if I remember correctly. To be 100 percent honest. This story may actually be true. If we can bring him in for peanuts which is all he will get at his age anyways. He'd be coming here for a shot at a ring. So who knows. Only thing I can't figure out is what his job would be lol

Yeah, there's no fit here. And to be honest, the guy looked washed up when he actually did play last year.

To be fair. His team was garbage. Offensively at least.

Yeah, that's true. But as I recall, Peterson managed to do even worse than the other running backs did. And that says a lot to me.

If he hits the open market? I'm pretty sure the Vikings are adamant about not letting Peterson do what he wants. And that's getting the hell out of Minnesota. Isn't be locked into that contract until like 2027?

But seriously, if he did come here we would have the greatest 1-2 punch at running back in NFL history by a mile and a half

LOL.

Safe space mentality.

Yes, using your best talent is a terrible idea. What if he gets huwt?

Using Emmitt Smith like they did turned out to be a "terrible idea" if you look past the championships.

Last I looked there was only ONE Emmitt Smith - but it's true that #22 had 400 touches four times during their run from 1991-95.

I also hear the Cowboys are interested in trying to talk Peyton Manning out of retirement.

They also have plans to spend a lot in the veteran free agency market in an effort to rebuild the offensive line.

Any chance of the Cowboys upgrading the kicker position?
