Post 6/1 doesn’t help though. Ignoring that all you are doing is spreading the same dead cap over 2 years, you still have to be under the cap where he is under contract until 6/1 so you are saving money you won’t use.I’m not anti DLaw, but post June cut saves the team a lot of cap.
POST-6/1 RELEASE
2024 Dead Cap: $10,445,0002025
2025 Dead Cap: $7,445,000
2024 Cap Savings: $10,000,000
It makes sense when our cap is underwater by 20 mill.Post 6/1 doesn’t help though. Ignoring that all you are doing is spreading the same dead cap over 2 years, you still have to be under the cap where he is under contract until 6/1 so you are saving money you won’t use.
Post 6/1 cuts are for bad contracts you want to get out from. DLaw would get his salary this year easily on the open market so it’s not a bad contract so a post 6/1 makes no sense.
Give me Chubb all day. Incentive laden deal. When healthy he’s a top 3 back in the league
For sure, but I'd be surprised if either gets cut. Both of those guys would be GREAT pick-ups! unless they are hurt.....
And it does nothing to help with that because you have to be under before June 1 assuming he is on the roster. You don’t get said cap relief until June 1 so it is useless. It makes sense when our cap is underwater by 20 mill.
DLaw is their best lineman and it's not even close.$10m probably isn’t enough savings to cut him. I bet Dlaw is safe for another season despite the lackluster sack numbers.
No argument from me. I agree, $10M isnt enough savings to justify cutting him. If anything you lower his cap number with a small extension.DLaw is their best lineman and it's not even close.
