Gotcha beat! I've seen 89; and as you can see below, the vast majority of those films were made in the 1930's or earlier. Please don't ask me about E.T. Every time I've tried to sit down and watch it, I've gotten physically ill (no joke). :puke:

Movies I haven't seen yet
11 CITY LIGHTS 1931
18 THE GENERAL 1927
24 E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL 1982
49 INTOLERANCE 1916
58 THE GOLD RUSH 1925
59 NASHVILLE 1975
60 DUCK SOUP 1933
78 MODERN TIMES 1936
82 SUNRISE 1927
85 A NIGHT AT THE OPERA 1935
90 SWING TIME 1936
I have seen 2 of the ones you haven't. "ET" and "Duck Soup." That one is a Marx Brothers classic. One night when I first got married it was on late and I couldn't sleep. I woke my wife up I was laughing so hard.

I just like the second one better.

I like when they go back and have Robert Deniro playing the part. I like them switching between the two.

Yeah. The last shot in the second film is haunting.

I'm sure you're not the only one, but for me, it's as perfect a movie as one can get.

That's cool, I'm not criticizing it, or anybody who likes it. It was just never my cup of tea really. I just have a weird taste for movies, I'm sure most of the movies I consider my favorites would never touch a list like that. lolZ, so what do I know. :D

Example: In recent movies a lot of my friends and people I know, loved Spider Man 2. Me? I hated it. I loved the first one however, the second one was just bland and uninteresting to me. So it's probably just me.

The Sixth Sense? You have got to be kidding me.
Sure, it could've been ranked lower, but I think it deserves a spot.

Any top 100 movie list that doesnt include the Matrix is pretty questionable at best.

No M Night Shamamamalamamadingdongylan hackjob belongs in the top 100 list of anything other than the top 100 contrived and lifeless films of all time.

On another post somewhere, I believe that I commented that Reds beat Raiders for best picture. That was incorrect. I may have went a little nuts back then the moment Raiders lost. My bad. :(

Here were the nominees for Best Picture in 1981 (the winner :thumbdo: is marked with an *):

1981 (54th)
BEST PICTURE
Atlantic City -- Denis Heroux and John Kemeny, Producers
*Chariots of Fire -- David Puttnam, Producer
On Golden Pond -- Bruce Gilbert, Producer
Raiders of the Lost Ark -- Frank Marshall, Producer
Reds -- Warren Beatty, Producer
Hard to argue with Chariots of Fire winning that one.

Chariots was a great inspirational movie. For me (and a few Academy voters), it wasn't the better of the two movies. Chariots won the Oscar, but the popularity of Raiders has endured the test of time.

You really going to try and tell me that Silence of the Lambs, Unforgiven and the Sixth Sense, to name a few, are better movies then the Matrix? That is laughable, the last 2 Matrix movies left a bad taste in a lot peoples mouths but the original was an excellent movie.
