Love him. Thanks for checking in again.
Yeah, but your expectations are not as high as most fans lol. 8-8 makes you happy every year.

Love on a scale of 1-10?
As I stated in the first thread, the purpose of having more than one is to gauge his progress in confidence throughout the season, since it is a process and all.

Is this a continuation of that thread where you told us how your confidence went from a 2 to a 3 or whatever, because we won a game in the preseason or something?
Confidence is kind of a binary thing, either you are, or you aren't. Is a '6' on a confidence scale actually confidence? It's really just a measure of your relative uncertainty. He's a good coach, and he's doing a good job under difficult circumstances. Our problems aren't with coaching.

It doesn't.
I'm capable of understanding the reasons why we go 8-8, though. And I'm not so much in favor of changing things that aren't broken just because my unrealistic expectations aren't met.
I don't buy your dichotomy. I've never been a fan of false dilemmas.
I would disagree. I think it all comes down to coaching. To me it's the minor things that end up making a big difference.
But, hey, you're confident in Garrett. I guess you're stuck with being "confident" in Garrett and in denial about what our problems are until he's gone or enough time passes where you can distance yourself from that confidence.
For the record, I'm at around a 2..
You ask this question all the time. The people that never liked the hire like me are going to have the same answer, which is not much. The people waving pom poms are going to gonna say it's a process. Same ole, same ole.
I don't think it is unrealistic to expect an improvement in the number of wins. I don't think moral victories are a sign of improvement and in year three of a three year plan, I think it is very realistic to expect better results. It is good you understand the reasons that this is an average team, but it seems to me that you would want the reason for the average teams held accountable. Garrett is the head coach and he is where the buck stops when it comes to failures on the field that he has direct control over. How many more average seasons will you be willing to understand?
Such a great thread.. lol.
On a serious note.. we're about to be 3-0 in our division. Make sure you check in again in 2 weeks.
This post makes it clear that you're really not checking up on anything at all. This is a poorly disguised complain-some-more-about-the-head-coach thread. Which is fine, if that's your thing. Just be honest about it.

If we win tomorrow, we're a .500 team. That's "if" (I think we can). I still don't see how he serves us better than any number of decent coaches out there. What does he bring that others wouldn't? I've yet to see that.
What I have seen is that he isn't prepared, himself, in games where having an experienced, prepared coach can be the difference in a win or loss. He's not thinking ahead, he's not trying to eliminate potential mistakes before they happen and he's definitely not running the ball with any consistency, which has been a problem for a long time.
I think that chances are, better than not, he won't be coaching in Dallas next year.
