Side note: Justin Tuck is speculated to get cut, I would love to pull a Canty on the Giants and sign him.

just depends on who gets cut and which contracts gets restructured.

we can have enough cap space to sign one big name a few mid level players

Also not thanks to Tuck, the guy is done.

Speculation:

Miles, Spencer, Hatcher and Ware get cut.

Lee, Romo, Witten and Carr restructured.

They can get under the cap with restructures that do not include Ware or Austin. If they want to sign any free agents, they have to either cut or restructure Ware. Either option frees up about 7.5M in 2014, but restructuring pushes 11M into future years; whereas, cutting Ware in March results in zero dead-money in 2015.

Making Austin a June 1st cut frees up 5.5M in 2014 which is more than enough to sign all draft picks. Cutting him earlier does not free up money in 2014, but does result in less dead-money in 2015.

We are in a bad way. Worse team in the NFC East as far as Cap Room goes. I think Washington has 25 million of cap room right now without restructuring anything. Ditto for Philly. They will all be players. We won't. Accordingly they should be better next year. IMO the Giants will clean house and they will have cap room because they won't resign many of their old guard. PS. Don't forget we play the NFC West Next year. CAN YOU SAY OUCH!

The Giants and Skins have more cap room b/c their entire teams suck. What are there, a dozen good players between them?

I agree with you except that Spencer will be a free agent due to being franchised this past season.

Ware will not be cut, might be extended to make his cap hit drop. Ware might be willing to take a pay cut but he will not be cut.Jerry will make several excuses to keep Ware. Ware has been hurt all year and being doubled teamed, with more help on the DL Ware will be a pro bowler again. All things jerry will say.

Also extending Ware to a new deal would be more Cap beneficial than cutting him for next year.

Spencer is gone anyways next year so he isn't on the payroll for next year, this is his last year of the deal so letting him walk does nothing to the cap.
Same for Hatcher, this his last year of the deal so again him gone does not save us any money next year.

Miles will only help the cap if he is a June 1st cap cut.

Right now the 2-14 cap is set to be 128 million, with the dead money and next years cap we are set to be at 148.5 million. We need to clear 20.5 million to just get under the cap.

Do we have more than 6 "good: players on our team?
Romo, Murray, Tyron, Dez, Witten, Frederick...on offense alone.

A dozen is probably an exaggeration, but neither of those teams is even close to as talented as Dallas, imo.

Does anyone really think JJ will cut Miles or Demarcus?

Miles yes as a june 1st, only way he stays if he takes a pay cut.

Ware will be extended to a new deal, you might hate it but it will happen.
Ware is going to be a 16 million cap hit and would save 7.5 by releasing him.
Ware has 3 year left on his current deal. We could restructure or sign a new deal that will give him a 4 or 5 year with a 12 million signing bonus. structure it where he takes league minimum as salary in 2014 because he gets his 12 million signing bonus. So his cap hit goes from 16 million to just 3 million. saving us 13 million in 2014 and saving next year too compared to what his cap hit will be next year. Make the last 2 years salary very high but we could cut him then at no major cap hit.

They can't get his cap hit down to 3M in 2014. You ommitted his past unrealized prorated bonus money. His minimum cap hit with a restructure is around 7M.

we can save 9-9.2 million by restructuring Romo deal dropping our cap to 139 being just 11 over.
give Ware a new 4 or 5 year deal will cut the cap another 12-13 million and now we are under the cap. Bam that easy
Miles a June 1st cap cut and we have another 3.93 savings but will have a 3.91 dead money cap hit next year
If we need to we can restructure Carr and save another 6 million
if needed we can restructure witten and save another 4 million
restructure Lee would save about 5 million

Free is a guy we need to look at. Cutting him will save us 3 million. This is another guy where signing him to a new 2 or 3 year deal might help us. If he stays next year he is a 6.5 million cap hit.

We could get him if we want him. They want to cut him for a reason. Much better players out there to spend our money on

they can with a new deal. If he renegotiates a new deal you can.
