It's like what someone already asked you. Dwight Freeney has no sacks so far this season. Jason Hatcher has 1/2 sack. By your silly analysis that means he's better than Freeney.

You maintain teams do not scheme to stop Ware, and that right there discredits your entire stance. Each week opposing coaches are telling their guys they have to account for him and put a body on him. We see it in the articles posted even.

It's called paying attention. Several people here do that and yes, they are damned smart about football on this forum. I'm not easily impressed and we have some people who impress the hell out of me. You can't even acknowledge that the 2 teams aren't doing the same things defensively.

Ware can do things for our Defense that Merriman could not do. That is why we drafted him instead of Merriman. Period.

I don't. I saw the whole fiasco at the other forum and saw the evidence. If he is who he says he is and who you claim he is, it shouldn't be too hard to prove it. Failing to do so only means he can't.

I was all for drafting Merriman too. I hadnt seen one bit of Ware. But I liked what I saw form Ware since then. Young, solid, complete, smart player. Merriman will get you a highlight sack, and will blow up any RB, and kill a lot of LT's.

But lets not forget that whiff he had on Todd Heap for the game winner.

I still like Merrimans game, but I think theres a little too much hype right now.

Yeah Merriman, is much bigger than Ware, at 272 lbs, and has a mean streak but that doesn't mean he the superior player Ware, is more versatile, and has much more athleticsm than Merriman so to me both are good players in their respective schemes.

So he argues about Merriman's sack stats look at it this way if Ware played against Oakland then his sack total would've been that of Merriman's and that is something STS, cannot argue no matter how hard he tries.

If Ware, was in San Diego, Hos, and Merriman, was here in Dallas, then it would be STS, would argue about Ware, having more sacks than Merriman, and he sucks.

So he brought up Sunday that Ware, didn't have any sacks against the Texans, I viewed the game just like countless others here and they the Texans, made it their top priority to max protect Carr, something else that STS, failed to know after the game there was Greg Ellis, who said that no sacks in that game was a bit misleading while they didn't get any sacks they did however created some pressure on Carr and there was Ware, leading the pack in some of those pressures and just weeks ago his boy Merriman, didn't have a sack against the Titans, so his arguement is dead weight.

Very good post. Riddle me this Ringmaster, on the 3rd quarter turnovers that swung the game to Dallas' favor, where was Ware?

If I remember right he was collapsing the pocket and forcing a quick throw. On Henry's pick I'm certain of it because the throw went to his inside as he pushed the OT back to where he could swim underneath for the sack if Carr had not got rid of it.

On the Ellis interception he was doing much of the same and you know this because Ellis was clearly back in coverage.

Does that show up in a sack column or INT column? No, but it is valuable to the defense and to the player's value.

The bottom line is this, both are good players. Ware is not a liability by any wild stretch of the imagination and that is the part of all this that is maddening. Gripe about a player who is a bust. That's fine. I have no issue with that. Ware is not a bust. It's an insult to even infer it.

the bottom line is this we cant be a serious contender this year with no pass rush or an average one...we need a dominant one and merriman would have fit that bill. Ringmaster you didnt read my post regarding how we would have used Merriman in a way like we use Roy. To accentuate his strengths...D Where at this point is raw and doesnt have a good enough passrushing ability to do that or BP would! If you have an LT you dont drop him back you send him! If you have a Shawn Merriman you dont drop him back you send him and he gets you 5.5 sacks in the first 5 or 6 games! Dont bring up who he played because D Where got one on a RB or FB...so really you would have to say he has only one true sack. It is what it is. We played the Titans and D Where didnt get 3 sacks did he? So whatever the truth is the truth...13 to 8 and the same amount of tackles is what it is...and thats what it will be at the end of the year....raw vs. polished!
