Ive got an idea, why dont you just continue to pout and whine because the cowboys didnt draft the player youd prefer, maybe you can magically reverse time and change that. or is it that you are one of those couldve, shouldve, wouldve persons who likes to complain and be upset.

ware is a better all round player. That is what is important in the long run.

well we already had a few players that could cover and stop the run better than him...we needed him for a passrush which he is not providing right now....my point is merriman would be better at that...dont be a homer

Ware, Canty, Spears, Ratliff, Hatcher, Burnett, Carpenter, James, Williams, Newman, Watkins, and Henry.

Names you need to focus on and watch. Put the ESPN stat page away and watch these kids. They are the future of this defense and you could learn something by paying attention to their development.

As I said before, some of the smartest football minds on this forum are telling you the same thing. It is foolish to ignore that, but the choice is yours. To quote my friend Juke, "if 3 people tell you that you're drunk, at least sit down."

Don't make this your "Shepherd Smith" of this forum.

Its only in the fevered minds of a few that ware was drafted only to pass rush. Ware was drafted to play LB- and BP only wants complete players, not specialists. I think that is why he passed on Merriman- who up till now has shown to be a one trick pony.

This is what aggravates me most about these stupid threads.

It's not so much that the special people who start these threads don't know a thing about football, or that countless people indulge their ridiculous threads and desires for attention (myself included), it's that these threads inevitably turn into a "No way! My player's the best - your player sucks, or is limited, or can't do what my player does!"

That's just not true here. Both players are outstanding. Their situations on their respective teams are very different. If we had taken Merriman, they'd have taken Ware. If we'd have taken Castillo, they'd have taken Spears. Fantastic players all. Yes, San Diego does alot more with their defense. Yes, they have gotten to play the scum of the earth Raiders, among others. Yes, Phillips and especially - ESPECIALLY - Williams are huge advantages they hold over us, at least until Ellis steps up even more. (There's no way we get a Williams. Aside from Peppers and Freeney, this guy might be the most dominant lineman in the league. it's too much to hope for.)

Everyone needs to just get the heck over it. If you're thrilled with Ware, and I know I am, there's no need to defend him to some attention-starved 14 year old who smells like acne-cream. There's also no need to bash the player that 14 year old is jocking, because in this case, that player is fantastic.

You would think a UMD homer, who was dying to see Merriman in Dallas, and was incredibly disappointed when he was passed over, would be starting these threads.

he's at 5.5 sacks now compared to 2 sacks for ware...and will probably hit 12 or 13...ware probably will be right around 8 again...i dont think there will be any argument that we should have drafted merriman..he is a beast...teams are worried about him and they account for him like they do for roy williams...just think if we had two players like that on our team! bad move jerrah...should have drafted the better passrusher...he is a game changer while ware is just a good player...merriman will be great if he is not already...and i dont want to hear about this zimmer bend but dont break defense...i see ware rushing ALOT AND HE JUST CANT GET THERE...BOTTOM LINE

I liked him. I hoped we'd draft him. I knew we were going to take Ware. I said as much.

Goose, Norm, & Mickey all came out and said Ware would be the pick. I accepted that and moved on.

The guy is phenominal. Back to back plays against Nawlins in the pre-season.

Play 1...pass to Deuce in the left flat. Had Deuce not dropped the pass Ware was going to do bad things to him. That kind of read and pass coverage is not an everyday occurence. It takes a special player not to buy the fake and come upfield at the QB. He made the right read and the play fizzled. If he simply does the aforementioned "go get the QB," and that pass was complete, Deuce would still be running.

Play 2...the very next play. Ware took 6'6", 313 pound Jamaal Brown off his feet and pushed him backwards into Drew Brees completely disrupting the play. Ellis almost had a pick.

This kid is all that and a bag of chips. Forget the sack stats, his game is solid in every facet. The sacks will come. It's his intelligence and reads that make him the better player IMO. Oh, and his character.

STSINAZ called him "my boy." I proudly accept that gift. He's by far my favorite player on this team.

Don't forget when Bush tried to get away from Ware (on a screen pass) and he couldn't.

LOL, superpunk you are funny.

No, actually i grew up in a rural area deep in the woods. I like to get out of the city and go on hikes real deep in the woods to think sometimes, its a comfort zone for me.

But that picture was pretty awesome looking, even just to appreciate the quality of the photgraphy.

But i do like to make big bonfires at parties, i'm a little bit of a pyro. i actually did accidentally burn down a huge field one time in high school - about 20 acres, i remember the wind picked up and the fire doubled in size in about 3 seconds.....i was trying to put it out until that happened, then i was like uh-oh and took off running, this old man was yelling at me when i came out of the field and telling me i was in deep do-do. i was like dont sit here jawlin get inside and call the fire co before your house burns down. at that he thought for a second and then ran inside and i took off.

Luckily no ones property got destroyed, but i was sweating bullets for a minute hiding across the street and watching, it seeemd like the whole police force and fire co were there in 5 minutes.

Thats pretty funny hos...sheppard smith...dont worry i know him so its no big deal...he is gosuns...we all know that..at least his friends do. I have spoken to him about numerous topics and verified it was him. You guys can go to the "14" year old card but i thought that you would have better comebacks than that. That is proof enough you can rebutt my arguments. All you can say is look at these players. What does that have to do with what I said? Merriman is a better passrusher and this team needs one. That's my whole point. He is even beating Ware in tackles! you never address anything other than the genius minds of this forum agree with you. Like who, statboy? he didnt even know there was a stat for knockdowns. Anyway the proof will be in the pudding, you will see it. At the end of the year we will not have had anything for a passrush, Ware will be at 8 sacks, and Merriman will finish at 13 or so. Let me ask you this. Were you happy with our pressure that past two games? I know I wasnt. All you Ware lovers please answer that one question. If you answer yes I would have to say therin lies the problem. You are shooting for mediocrity and thats why you make excuses for your boy. If you answer NO then you are contradicting yourself by stating you want Ware instead of Merriman. He would destroy teams in our defense. You guys state they want Ware to be another Al S and cover and stop the run then why have they pretty much changed up what a normal SS would do with Roy due to his strengths? Why wouldnt they do the same for Ware? I guarantee you they would with Merriman!
