The play calling has been top notch for the Saints. They don't just come out throwing deep all day, they take their time and they let it develop. They run the ball well, they throw short little passes, screens, dump offs to the rb's in the flats, and then.....Boom they hit you deep. Patience is key. The short pass, the check down, & the dump off has replaced the ole pounding of the rock from old. You gotta have a short passing game to be effective today...

Can someone please pass this onto Garrett. He is upset if a pass doesn't go 20 yards downfield on darn near every play.

I think he does this because as a QB his pop-gun arm could only throw lobbed bombs to Irvin and Harper.

So we've addressed how to handle their receivers, what about their running game which I think is in the top 5
:welcome: to the Zone!

You take a page out of the Panthers gameplan:
  • Time of possession - Dallas' offense should use ball control to limit the number of carries which Mike Bell, Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas can exploit. The same strategy works towards slowing down their passing game as well.
  • Contain the run - The Saints offense will attempt to spread the defense out. We will have to tackle well to prevent the 10 - 20 yard huge gains by their running backs and try to limit their running game to around 75 - 100 yards total.
Carolina had a good plan, but their turnovers killed them.

He gives up on it to early when it gets stopped...
