I know this is about the Saints but really, we are not going to get the top 2 seeds. And definitely not the #1 seed anymore. Winning our remaining 3 division games will almost guarantee us a NFC East crown and a home game 1st round, which is all you can ask for at this point. Losing this game will not be the end of the world, unless they lose it like they did 3 years ago when the Saints came to Dallas and destroyed us and we went downhill ever since.

The actual loss on paper will not mean that much if we take care of the other times. But if they lose bad, it could send us in a downward spiral, if we are already in one by then. :laugh2:
Stop making me feel better.

Well I could see how you would think like that because you obviously have showcased your quitters mindset in this thread.

You've never played sports if you don't think doubt creeps into player's minds at times

Poster appears to conviently forgeting our defense and pts allowed. Our defense is playing very good football right now. If they can keep doing what they are doing and our offense moves the ball, I love our chances and will easily pick the Cowboys to win over the Saints.

NE was giving up even less than us I believe prior to tonights game.

I do not think the Saints are unbeatable. The freaking 1-8 Rams almost beat them. I think the Cowboys have a good shot at taking them down a notch!

Go Cowboys!

dust off Parcell's game plan against the Colts when they were high octaned and undefeated. Execute that game plan with our personnel and we'll win against Saints or the Vikings.

DO NOT get into a shoot out. It's not about who looks pretty, it's about who gets the W.

I honestly think Ware gave Manning a concussion on the first play of the game. It would be hard to duplicate against Brees.

From what I recall, we were really aggressive with our blitzes and ran tight man coverage. The Pats didn't seem to like it today when the Saints did it to them. I think we could do the same thing to them with our 3 CBs. The Pats don't have a CB any better than Allen Ball IMO. I would put Newman on Colston because of his strength.

If we are going to blitz the Saints and use man coverage on the WRs we will need someone dropping back on the zone blitz and watching out for screens. Actually, everybody would have to be looking out for screens.

A middle push will be very important in this game because Brees is quite short - Ratliff needs to have a big game. We'll probably send Brookings after him too.

I wonder why we haven't used much 46 defense this year - Bradie was terrorizing QBs on blitzes last year from that formation. Maybe we bring that back out for the Saints.

If we blitz the Saints, it'll be selectively. We'll need to pressure them with our base set and not put our guys in man:man if we want a shot against that passing game.

I kinda hope we lose a close game in NO, so the rematch in the playoffs will be for revenge.

I do not think we can go into the SuperDome twice and beat the Saints, that is just an insane task.

Same coach, same OC, same core team, and we have shown the same mistake prone tendencies we have over the past several years in our first 11 games.

4 years of December ineptitude isnt something to scoff at

You can have your own opinion but at least get your facts straight. Wade and JG didn't start coaching until 2007. They only had 2 years of December so far.

Our problem isnt physical in any way. It's all mental. You think our guys arent thinking about 4 years of utter failure in December?

According to a certain contingent on this board, the past never manifests itself mentally when attempting to shake that monkey. I know better than to agree with them. When the players step on the field, typically, all bets are! off. However, in each building week of preparation for the big game, the thought does creep into the back of many minds. This is where the coaches earn their money during the week preparing their teams in a way that give such a thought zero chance of transferring through to Sunday. We'll see if that DC can actually fool us into thinking he is a HC as December goes into the books.

Really?

Do you have amnesia?
