He will be remembered for what the league is now - players don't have to wait until their bodies completely give out on them to retire. Luck is not going to be the last one to do this and for good reason.

I don't find Irsay to be a person I would trust. It isn't as if an MRI will always show everything. Some injuries just don't show up and a player can still feel some pain or discomfort. It didn't stop Luck from going out there last season. Luck started and played all 16 games in 2018 and was 2nd in pass attempts.

The comment obviously struck a nerve with Aikman who had his share of injuries which forced him to retire.

I highly doubt Aikman would quit in his 7th year because of an ankle sprain. And I am sure he wouldnt do it two weeks before the season began.

Aikman is better than Luck.

Luck plays in a different era than Aikman.
We now know more about concussions than we did previously.
We are seeing the effects of chronic pain more now than we have previously.
Players are making more money and can afford to retire earlier now than they did in Aikman's era.
