Great head coaches build a plan before they build a team. There is typically a specific style they wish to implement. There are certain attributes that they desire from their players. Most importantly, they are confident and loyal to their plan.

A head coach cannot follow his plan under Jerry Jones because it conflicts with the way that Jerry wants to operate which i would describe as chaos disguised as something else.

Cutting edge innovation and strategy cannot be developed through a micro-managed organization whose philosophy seems to be the league-wide fad du jour only five years too late.
