Aikman's Hatred for the Cowboys...shyaa!!

I don't disagree with Hos' analysis at all. Some don't like Aikman because he is not an absolute homer as a broadcaster and that is childish.

That, however, is not why I don't like Aikman and the fact that you said I didn't take Hos' analysis into account, lead me to believe, you were lumping me into that whole crowd.

I simply don't like Aikman as an announcer and it has nothing to do with his homerism, or lack thereof.

as i posted earlier, i dont like Aikman cause always states the OBVIOUS, and he rambles on and on like we dont know crap about football, lot of times he keeps rambling on till the snap of the next play. those are my reasons? so what does that make me?? a whiner, a crybaby? a ????

It makes you someone who doesn't like Aikman as an announcer.

I think Troy tries too hard to not be a homer. He's really good in the booth just not when he is doing Cowboy games.

You got it right...they're not suppost to be bias, and he tries to hard. But he is one of my favorite announcers, although I'm not a Cowboys fan.

I said, to that viewpoint, WRONG. Our problem is not that some people don't like Aikman as an announcer. Our problem is that there are some saying he is a Cowboys basher, AND HOS HAS PUT TOGETHER A LIST OF BROADCAST STATEMENTS FROM AIKMAN THAT THESE PEOPLE NEED TO ENGAGE.

Now, whether I made myself clear enough is certainly up for debate. But based upon your statements, I didn't misunderstand you.

This is precisely where this all started and I simply tried to tell you 5000 different ways that was not my point.

For the past couple of years, I've heard from various members of this site about Aikman's supposed hatred and bias for the Cowboys. And after watching this past sunday's game against Washington, all I have to say is.......You guys are RIGHT!!
Ooh...The Cowboys aren't the class of the NFC.
Ooh...The Cowboys have an unfair advantage by playing at home on Thanksgiving and shouldn't be allowed to have a home game before Thanksgiving.
And Ooh...Garrett will be a HC with another team next year.

Well you know what, at 9-1 the Cowboys are the Class of the NFC and will have every opportunity to prove it with their schedule playing the best that the NFC has to offer.
You never heard him complaining about Thanksgiving games when he played in them, in fact some of his best games were played on Thanksgiving.
And lastly...I hate to tell you Troy, but when Jason Garrett is ready...he'll go. Every year some coaches butt is on the hot seat and to say that the window of opportunity will close next year is completely inaccurate. I'll stop short of saying that maybe some of that animosity may be caused by how the Cowboys were when his career ended and now it looks like some of the first records to fall in Dallas will be Aikman's...but if it keeps up, well it kind of makes you wonder. We will see if his attitude keeps up as the year progresses. To bad he won't be on hand for the Green Bay game.

whinning or no whinning you can't ignore that some of us take offense to the way Troy calls our games. I guess I'm one of the Aikman's crowd since it doesn't bother me. My brother on the other hand turns down the volume and listens to Brad Sham on the radio. I doesn't make him right or wrong. that's just the way he likes them apples.

I agree Troy shuld shut up. He is a has been and Tony is the rising star that is going to demolish all his records even the three SB's. Troy is a bit sour at the moment but he will come around.
I must say that even though Irvin had his off the field problems he is a class act and supports the cowboys he was the first person to say dallas should pick up T.O. and Staubach is also very classy he has even said he thinks romo may be better then he was.
Troy is so bitter but he needs to remember he had his time to shine and now is Tony's. I don't remeber Roger bad mouthing Troy when he tookover or talking trash on the Boys of the 90's.

Because he picks up blitzes, he blocks, he does the little things that most backs won't or don't do.

If you know anything about Troy Aikman THE PLAYER then this comment wouldn't surprise you a bit. Aikman has always loved the guys who will do whatever it takes for your team to win.

I personally like Terrell Owens for the same reason. I don't know how many people pay attention to it (Aikman does because I've heard him comment on it before) but Owens is a great blocker and plays tougher than most WR's.

Seriously, I would have been more disturbed had he said that Julius Jones' was his favourite player in the NFL.
