Sometimes I read threads and think of the chorus to the song Caught in the Mosh by the 80's thrash band Anthrax

Can't stand it for another day
I ain't gonna live my life this way
Cold sweat, my fists are clenching
Stomp, stomp, stomp, the idiot convention
Which one of these words don't you understand?
I'm Caught in a Mosh
Talking to you, is like clapping with one hand

What is it? -- Caught in a Mosh!
What is it? -- Caught in a Mosh!
What is it? -- Caught in a Mosh!
What is it? -- Caught in a Mosh!

When he said his favorite player was Clinton Portis, he was dead serious. Everyone at the party yelled "WHAT?" He likes to brag on other teams when they make a few great plays while dissing the Cowboys and there's no reason to do that.

...I'm a big Cowboys fan, but I would love me some Portis. Given what the man has done since coming to Washington I would have been happy to see him in a Cowboys uniform.

I thought it was hilarious when he addressed the Washington media as those ridiculous personalities.

Jocking Portis is no disrespect to the Cowboys in my eyes.

Too lazy to hit the link? Okay.

Per Troy Aikman, himself, not some lame opinion of his motives...
  • To me, Dallas is one of those teams that no matter the situation in the game, I just feel like they are going to do it. I feel like Tony is going to make a play or TO will make a catch and they will come back.
  • For people that didn't watch the New England game closely and look at the final score and say that got blown out, I disagree with them. That was a seven point game going into the fourth quarter and could have been a different game completely had Dallas gotten a couple of breaks. I still say if Dallas played New England 10 times, they may not win 5 but they would win 3 or 4; I really do. Dallas is better than Indy, San Diego and more complete than Pittsburgh as well.
  • If Dallas makes it to the SB, no matter who the AFC team is, this is not going to be an automatic win for them. Dallas is that good.
  • The best team I played on was the 1992 team. How would that team stack up against these Patriots? Good question. Mercury Morris said the 1972 Dolphins would steam-roll these guys. I try to be a little more objective. If you took the top five teams in '92 or even ten, I think those teams would be better than the best five or ten from this year. I think there is a lot of parity. I think New England, Indy and even this Dallas team could compete against us. I'm not saying they would win but they would compete. They big advantage we had was depth. These teams don't have as much. We would lose one player to injury and his back-up would be a Pro Bowler next year.

Pure hate right?

Aikman along with alot of other mediots have had to change their tune a little since we are 9-1, again my personal beef with Aikman is that he STATES THE OBVIOUS, and continues to ramble on and on about it, all the way till the snap of the next play. as if we dont have a clue about football.

We weren't 9-1 when he said that.

Almost all color commentators do that. Please, for the love of all that is holy, mute your TV so I never have to see one of these stupid posts about his hatred again.

that's Troy Aikman right there: he tries to be a little more objective than the rest of us. Some of us can handle it and some of us can't since we see him as one of ours.

I call that being thoroughly professional.

I suppose these guys think bragging about how good the sex was with past girlfriends shouldn't cause the current girlfriend any grief at all.

ok so we were 8-1 at that time, noone expected us to lose to the Commanders and we didnt, so its the same difference.

arguing about Aikmans game comments is in some ways whining a little bit, but personally ive been on record as saying i have never liked him as a game analyst. just my opinion thats all, i dont care how unbiased or professional he tries to be.

Let's put it this way - if the same thing came out of anyone elses' mouth that came out of Troy Aikmans' as far as the Cowboys go - they would be lit up much like Skip Bayless is (perhaps a slight exaggeration here).

Troy gets a lot of slack and perhaps rightly so - but he is one irritating SOB to listen to.

I wouldn't. Embrace the hatred. I love the criticism of the media. I certainly don't think there's anything to cry about.

So he said Portis is his favorite player. Yeah, and? Where's the pain? Where's the suffering?

Oh right, to feel that you have to wear lace. No thanks.

My biggest complaint with Troy is that WingStop isn't as good as he says it is.

The one by my house is very good. I have been to another location where it was not that great but I guess that is how all food franchises are. It depends on the people running that particular location

Who said anything about pain and suffering? I said he was irritating.

Who said I was crying about it? I'm not.

I stated an opinion.

Am I missing something here?

I actually do embrace the hatred but that has absolutely nothing to do with my post.

I find Aikman irrittating as an analyst and that is the extent of it.

Yeah, read the whole thread. It's littered with tissues.

Naw, don't shut up. You're absolutely right. I watch the games with a rack of Boyz fans and we've been saying that about Aikman for years. I really don't care what he says or what he thinks about the Boyz but yes, plenty of people have noticed his comments regarding the Boyz...

Im with you man.

Him talking about Dallas should never get a home game before the Thanksgiving day game really hacked me off.

Some people just don't understand how their personal beliefs filter their perceptions. If one believes Aikman hates the Cowboys then that person will only notice the comments that are consistant with that belief. All Cowboy positive staments will be ignored or "spun".

To such a person, the truth won't be visible even if it is in bright red letters.

thats YOUR opinion. Yours is not the only one that matters, no more than mine is. Alot of people agree with me, for example 20 or so at a game party heard his comments all during the game and were disgusted with his negative remarks against us, and positives for the Commanders. Very few times did he say anything positive about us. He needs to go back to selling cars and not commentating games. I'll say it again, I'm an Aikman fan, my room is full of his memorabilia which I'm proud of. He just needs to stop making us look like fools in the media.

If somebody can make the Cowboys look like fools in the media, it is not Aikman. It is crybaby Cowboys fans who can't understand that what somebody SAYS doesn't make any difference at all.

Why do you think what Aikman says affects what the Dallas team DOES?

God forbid someone post an opinion on an annoucer. If you post an opinion on Skip Bayless it's OK - but if you post an opinion on Aikman you're a crybaby.
