Al Harris should be on the Cowboys radar as DC!

Sarcasm?

Al Harris had accumulated 13 years of coaching experience, at the NFL and college level, by the end of last season. Of those 13 years, five were gained on Jerry Jones' coaching staff.

By comparison, Jones gifted Jason Garrett the offensive coordinator position after two seasons as Miami's quarterbacks coach. That was the sum total of coaching experience listed on Garrett's resume at that point in his career.
I was giving you Jerry's reasoning. Garrett was Jones' hand picked genius

I don’t think he left Dallas on good terms but supposedly Diggs and Bland credit him for their play. I would want a bigger fish. We trying to win a Super Bowl next season.
Eberdummy will be back this organization is sad.

The problem is Jerry Jones. What established DC is going to come in and work for Jerry and put up with his shenanigans? This is why the Cowboys get burnouts and retreads as coaches and coordinators…while the teams with legitimate owners, who realize the importance of coaching and are willing to pay, get the up-and-coming coaches and coordinators.

Buddy Ryan could be reincarnated, hired, and it wouldn't make a difference.

No experience
Well then promote Whitecotton or hire an aggressive defensive coordinator and bring in Al Harris and give him the title secondary coach/assistant defensive coordinator and pay the man. He has proven he can get the job done. Why Ol Jerry let Al leave is a mystery of epic proportions are we too tight to pay good coaches, there is no salary cap on coaches.

With no salary cap on coaches why not pay more to have the best coaching staff in the league, are we not trying to win Super Bowls. Or are we as a franchise just going through the motions. Somebody enlighten me.

Yeah I think Flores and Schwartz would be major upgrades.
yes add Bowles .. You hear his interview after that loss I want that guy on my team.. He's salty Kind of need one of those balance out the players coach on the other side...

Right now I don't think anybody is going to dismiss any name we post because we want Matt out right now we don't even know if Matt being fired that's the dangerous and sad thing right now as he may be back next year and all this is moot..

We have not tried to win a Super Bowl for the last 30 years. Next year will not be any different. Quit buying Jerry’s cheese

Jerry & Stephen weren't comfortable with him. That's why he's gone. Just like the 2 fools weren't even interested in interviewing Ben Johnson.

Ownership is and has been our main issue for 30 years. All the rest is just window dressing.

I agree, common sense tells me when you see a position coach that is doing good for a position group. This being the Dallas secondary you have to try and retain Al Harris, and how bad has this team missed Jourdan Lewis yet another Jerry stinker move last offseason.

I wouldn't,

seriously like that's shocking, I don't want another retread He was really great in a regular season but even the biggest games in the regular season we've seen what's happening in Washington happen here we don't want that again I'm sorry he just his defense will get us more sacks and maybe some more turnovers but he can't win the big games he gets out coach outplayed and I don't want to hear about it's the roster because he had his meltdowns and his collapses in the big games in Atlanta and Dallas and now in Washington why would you want him back that's just like taking one step to get better and then quitting rehab and now you walk with a limp no we need to fix both legs not just one..

We don't need another Dallas Cowboy who while somewhat successful here failed in the big games to bring him back again no retreat in that manner that's what happened with that eberfpoo and even Mike Zimmer I mean Mike Zimmer was better than Matt but these guys came back and failed..

Hey this is like the relationships where people break up for good reasons and they backslide sometimes more than once and then they realize after a little while, why they broke up...:muttley: just because it feels comfortable, doesn't make it right...

What's crazy ,you guys are so injured and upset at Matt, that you can't see straight, you would allow Dan Quinn to come back, no I don't want him back...

You think about somebody that can do multiples, like they talk about somebody with not a big ego, who's willing to take a roster and build a defense around it, not force schemes onto a roster, and say well I just don't have enough players.

We don't have a list right now, you're right, but going back to last year, I was even thinking why isn't Brian Flores being considered, that was my number one guy I thought of to come here, it made sense....

I'm Betting we can go back to last year and put together the list, if you find the old posts about who we thought maybe Schottenheimer were bringing in as a DC, and just that list is the same again, it did not have Matt Eberflus's name on it, I'm betting..

But like people have said above they're like Jim Schwartz this is what the Eagles did you need to get an aggressive guy or a guy willing to do multiples that can do most anything necessary to build a defense to match his roster that's what we're missing here...
Eberfpoo?

I see you're coming around to my way of thinking on EverFluff.

Several weeks backs, you said we just didn't have any players to work with.

I understand what you're saying but everywhere Al Harris goes, those defenses are tops in getting turnovers. Thats not about what fans think, thats a reality.

I understand your points though.
He should have been promoted. Instead, they hired Mike Whimper and Eberwuss—two defensive coordinators who run non-aggressive, bend-but-don’t-break defenses.
