I would look to bring him in. He was drafted #1 17th overall in 2021 draft. I think Raiders have given up on him way too early. I get it that he struggled but I also think there is talent there if given sometime to develop
I don’t disagree. But he’s a walking penalty machine like Connor Williams was.

I think I’d rather invest in Jason Poe

It might be similar to my theory on Josh Ball.

Golfers often get worse before they get better when they change their swing.
- It has happened with some QBs also.

NFL coaches are likely changing the techniques for Josh Ball and Leatherwood and now they're just out of whack.

Very possible. It’s harder to unlearn poor technique than it is to learn new ones.

The situation with Leatherwood reminds me of the mammoth OT from Texas who played for the Cardinals. (Leonard Williams?). He was drafted high, busted out as an OT and played pretty well for us as a guard.

Leatherwood probably never moved well enough to be an NFL OT.

A first-round draft pick last year, the Raiders already gave up on him. Smh. Maybe rightfully so. I'm just glad we draft better than the Raiders do.

Where is the outrage, if Jerry took that contract, wow...

Wonder what Bears fans are thinking. Rioting or backing their owner.:muttley:

They probably could have waited. No one traded for him, maybe more to do with his contract than his play.
But as someone pointed out yesterday. If he cleared waivers, he could do nothing and get all that money. Wonder if he was hoping he did not get claimed. :lmao2:

I can. His contract is peanuts. It’s like 2 mil average the next few years.

The raiders already paid the signing bonus.
Sure, but it's fully guaranteed. Basically just guaranteed him 6-7M over the next 3 years (unless they also waive him and someone else takes it on).

I have watched Oline players who took time before they played to a high standard, I just think they gave up on him way too quickly.

You’ve been a fan of the cowboys who are ran by cap boy Stephen Jones, for too long. Lol

Leatherwood has been terrible. So bad that the team that drafted him last year already had enough and cut him despite being on the hook for that contract. For another team to take that contract on is surprising when they could have possible signed him for less guaranteed.

it's not a ton of money and not going to hurt them in the slightest, but that's still spending money unnecessarily. These billionnaires didn't become billionnaires by writing checks needlessly.

First, he's a figurehead coach.
Second, do you think playing Steele was McCarthy's idea or some brilliant stroke of genius?
Our offensive line was decimated last year. The Cowboys had no choice but to start Steele.
Besides, Dan Quinn runs the defense; Kellen Moore the offense.
What the heck does McCarthy do?
Oh, I know. Acknowledge and admit that players had fear in their eyes right before the 49ers playoff game.

Translation: He doesn't even prepare his team for post season.

I don’t know what Mike does. I don’t think any of us do. I just know he has a history of getting the best out of his players especially offensive linemen.

Bears are in FULL rebuilding mode, probably take a flyer and cut him if he doesn't work out.

You ever get tired of shilling for Jerry? Just because other teams do stupid things does not excuse his stupidity.

It's a good move by then imo. Like you said, they can always cut him if he doesn't pan out for them. He's going to have to be motivated, or his career will end up in a dustbin.

As bad as he has been. His contract is the equivalent of like a 2nd round pick at this point. So you’re still paying peanuts for a guy who has a ton of physical ability and may well figure things out.
