Like Saban, Belichick might get the best out of him.
Mike McCarthy?

Obviously overdrafted and overrated but his physical traits indicate potential upside.

Maybe try him at OG.

Well, his good assets were great size and speed and good feet. His negatives are lack of physical strength and not strong at point of attack. Sounds damn soft for a run blocking guard. Someone will give a shot, but that will be after he clears waivers. He makes too much money on his current contract and no one is going to pay him that.

The guy has been horrific. Essentially, they'd rather be on the hook to pay him not to play! PFF credited him with 14 penalties (3rd most in the league), 8 sacks allowed (2nd most), and 65 pressures (most in the NFL).

I’d love to go back into the draft day threads and read all the dudes trumpeting Leatherwood.

Why?........none of us are experts. In fact, I would argue we all are simply guessing from second/third-hand info/data. You never missed any picks? I have .......a lot. (LOL)

Was joking that Jerry gets criticized for getting nothing in return for players. But yet another team does this and gets a pass.
The difference in this situation is Collins has been a good player. Jerry didn’t get much at all for a starter quality player. Leatherwood is horrible. I can understand not getting much for him. I don’t understand getting rid of a good player ,that Dallas needed on the field, just to get out of the salary cap hit. Now they have plenty of cap room, but they are short on players.

I never make strident declarations about players. If you’re on the draft forum then you’d know what I’m referring to.

Availability.. Collins did not play much for 2 years and no guarantee he would have this year.

I think if he goes to run first team and he plays guard, he can still make a career.
Talent-wise, this guy is about like a Connor McGovern. He could be a marginal power guard, but he never had the feet or balance for LT even at Bama.

Leatherwood has the physical ability to play OT but his technique is terrible.

The reason is feet are an issue is because he stops moving them, not because he lacks the athletic ability (see RAS score).

His technique is worse than Josh Ball.
