If Michael is garbage then Randle is toxic waste. Sometimes it is just a numbers game. SEA overdrafted RBs and decided to stick with the guy they paid 10m. Trying to draw conclusions from the backups is silly based on the SSS.

Whatever. I'll only be a believer in CMike when he proves me wrong. I'm not concerned about that in the least. Paying Lynch 10m has nothing to do with Seattle giving up on CMike. Lynch can't be on the field all the time, so why did Seattle choose a rookie over CMike? Can you answer that one? I'll do it for you... CMike is crap.

I guess players have never switched teams and then lived up to their potential. Jimmy Smith had a horrible career after leaving Dallas. But he didn't.

Who said that's never been done? I never made a case for that. I'm talking specifically about CMike. CMike is crap.

C-Mike ran a 4.43 forty at the Indy Combine as compared to Randle's 4.63 at that event, so his 40-yd. dash speed is somewhat better at that distance. CM's explosion is generally regarded as exceptional, as his 10-yard dash speed and vertical jump indicates. At least, it'll be interesting to finally see what he can do in live action.

The official times:
C-Mike: 4.54
Randle: 4.52 Pro Day (4.63 combine)

If Forty times make RBs:
McFadden: 4.33
Emmitt: 4.6

I must disagree. Physically, Michael is lightyears ahead of Randle.

The sample sizes we have for both running backs are too small at this point to know who has better vision.

I'd like to see Michael get 20 carries and see what he does. I'd bet he breaks 100 yards.

Based on combine numbers?

Michael 4.54 forty
McFadden 4.33 forty
Randle 4.52 forty (Pro Day)

It's not a cult of Michael as opposed to people not being all that confident in our current backs over the long-term and in wanting to see what Michael can do. If he stinks, roll with what we have. I don't see what's so wrong about wanting to see what this guy is capable of.

You're picking and choosing. Put up all their numbers side by side. Michael's quickness, agility, and strength are far superior to the other two. You of all people should know that and be able to appreciate his unreal athleticism.

Kindly afford me some small measure of credit. My intention wasn't to submit that one is a superior RB to the other. Anyone who knows anything about football realizes that there's more to being a good runningback than their forty times. Nevertheless, speed and explosiveness is generally considered to be a slight advantage and not necessarily something to be totally ignored. Otherwise, they likely would never have made it a combine event. I've participated in many dashes -- enough to know that tenths of a second easily vary from one day or race to the next. We'll soon see what's what and make our own judgments.

Our runningbacks got completely shut out in the second half against Atlanta. They can get huge gains when there are lanes, but when things shut down, we're at a stand still. Why wouldn't you see if Michael can possibly bring an element to the table that none of our current runningbacks bring?

This is misleading. Why are you posting Combine numbers for Michael and McFadden and teh Pro day numbers for Randle? Pro day numbers are always better for everyone.

Randle ran a 4.63 at the combine.

Randle ran a 4.63 at the combine.

A better question is posting Combine numbers that are three years old or more.

Seriously. Talk about irrelevant.

Jerry Rice was still slow when he was tearing up the league, two or three years later.

The numbers says CMike is a explosive strong guy. Don't know how that will translate on the field but that bench press is impressive for a RB.

For the most part , it is irrelevant but my issue with Xwalkers post was if you are going to compare between the two, at least compare apples to apples.
