This tweet thread shows all 45 sacks he took:

Some were Dak's fault, some were OL's fault, some were the receivers' fault. Regardless, he gotta stop taking so many hits.

Some complain about accuracy but his pocket awareness is my biggest fear if giving an extension.

11% sack rate, just know this is worst than Romo's worst year (2011 - 6.5%) taking sacks when he had LT Doug Free, LG Montrae Holland, C Phil Costa, RG Kyle Kosier, and RT Tyron Smith (rookie)

And keep in mind this is with a run based offense and the pass game settling for short passes most of the time, even if it's 3rd and long.

Please don't turn this into a Romo thread, just merely pointing out how awful our QB is when it comes to pocket awareness and presnap adjustments. There's no way the current line, even before Smith went out, should be making the pass protection from 2011 look like all pros in comparison. Dak's sack rate should be competing for best in league, not worst in league.

    1/3 O-line
    1/3 scheme
    1/3 Dak

Give or take, how many times are we going to beat this shell of a horse? Good film though...

    With Dak it's 1 of 3 things.

    1. He doesn't have the confidence to make tight window throws.

    2. He doesn't see the tight window throws.

    3. He doesn't think he has the arm talent to make those throws.

He's leading the league in fumbles.

I would like to see him play to his strength and run more. That's what he is. He's not Aikman. He's a poor mans Cam Newton. Just run.

Yet he is best in the league in tight window throws the last two years.

    Hmmm.

    Yawn. He's not.

This is why you have to watch the games and not get hung up on stats like completion percentage that are easily manipulated.

He's not referring to completion %, he's referring to stuff like this: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...matthew-stafford-among-top-10-tightwindow-qbs

Note the QBs on that list from 2017 though. Case Keenum and Tyrod Taylor are on it but league MVP Tom Brady wasn't. I don't think it means what they think it means.

The problem with posts like this are the complete lack of accuracy.
To put another way, this stuff is full on bald-faced lying.

Dak takes too many sacks. Correct.
But this is not a good or plus OL right now... did you watch the friggin vidoes?
And DAL does not throw short a lot.
DAL throws short in the bottom 10 of all teams.

    These are EASILY verifiable FACTS.

Refusing to use them is simply lying.
    Stop it.

Dallas does throw short a lot, do you even watch games? Look at Daks passing chart and YPA. Who are you kidding?

    https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/list/pass/dallas-cowboys/2018/week

Here: weekly pass chart, at least half of his passes are 5 yards or less, that is A LOT. I don't know about other QBs but when I see our run game carrying and the pass game passing a short a lot there's no reason for a terrible sack rate. And I'm not buying our pass protection is trash.

And if your late with your throws, more of them are going to be tight window as the defender is closing. And we absolutely know that he is late with throws!

There's really only one stat that should matter with sacks, and that's time to sack. If it's over 3 seconds (1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand), I can't think of a single scenario where it's not on the QB.

Not sure I can get behind this.

I mean, you're right that this is not a good OL right now, but based on the quote you posted, I think I'd still take the current OL over the 2011 OL. From the center to RT it's better. Free was better at LT than Fleming is. Maybe push between Montrae Holland and Xua Filo.

But when you say that Dal throws short in the bottom ten of teams, Next Gen stats disagrees:

    https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-intended-yards

Dallas is 24 of 36 in Intended Air Yards and 25 of 36 in Completed Air yards. They certainly are happy to attempt downfield passes, but they aren't in the bottom 10 of short pass attempts by any metric.

Sacks are a team problem right now. OL, Dak, Scheme (although I don't think the Scheme is to blame so much, because we see so many highlights where the receivers run their routes, are covered and start running around - that means that the routes have finished and the QB is still looking, which should be tuck and run or throw away).
