You're not making much sense. Teams will sell out to shut down our running game and some will succeed. When that happens, Romo has to deliver with his arm, especially against one on one coverage. That is what he is paid to do. Anyone can just hand off a football left and right, but not any QB can make the throws that are needed to win. Romo is supposed to be one of the great QB's out there and he is certainly paid that way which has led to holes in other places of the team because of lack of money. He HAS to do his part. He did not do his part in the Thanksgiving game. He was wildy inaccurate and mentally off too.

It makes perfect sense. Romo can do his part and then a little something more. If it becomes a lot more then we will fall. It's there to be understood if you want to understand it.

Ok. After what? 4 paragraphs... YOU GOT IT!!! Lol

Bingo!

But.... I see the team slipping. Romo will go into Favre mode.

/end of line

And if the team slips then it will because they slipped as a whole.

Please name the last NFL QB who single-handedly won a championship. Because I can name several who won despite the most marginal efforts on their part - but outstanding support from their teammates.

That's my point. Slipping as a whole = Romo goes into mistake mode.

And that is MY point. From the 'team slipping as a whole' - you choose to concentrate on the potential mistakes to be made at a single position - QB/Romo - which are likely made as a result of excessive 'risk taking' that is usually necessitated when a team is playing from a substantial scoreboard deficit.

If you and others are waiting for perfection from a single position (i.e. QB) - well... make yourselves comfortable. 'Cause you're gonna be waiting a mighty loooooooong time.

Teams win championships when they have a preponderance of areas of strength as opposed to areas of weakness. Try looking at the team as whole - and gauge your expectations from there.

One day they will have a "Romo Stat," most meaningless garbage time stats yet most losses in "Big Games," "Playoff Implication Games," "Do or die," "Win or Go Home," "No Soup for You," etc etc...

That may be the stupidest thing I've heard on this site.
Again, these are career stats. That means his entire career. (All of the time he's played football in the NFL) So by your logic he's managed to be one of the top passers of all time because of garbage time? That's real dumb.

I don't disagree. We are making same point. Only difference is you think I am blaming Romo. I am not,
I am simply pointing out .... "All of this has happened before... And it will happen again"

Your comments in this thread are so broad brushed, so full of tired cliche's and so full of holes you really lose credibility. Honest, you look really bad.

First - his contract is not going to set the organization back and he's not getting 100 million dollars. How many countless posts have their been about the restructures being built into the contract to be team friendly. I guess giving up 51 points to the Packers last season or putting up 23 in a half on the Packers with historically worst defense in franchise history is Romo not living up to his contract. You honestly think Russell Wilson takes us to the playoffs last year?

Second, you absolutely blew off Percy's post recently about how Romo has less "meaningless stats in garbage time" than most quarterbacks. Do your homework, go back and read it, then you'll understand you can't use that excuse because it's flat out wrong.

Third - you bring nothing to the table as to if not Romo who? Okay you want to address it, how? Cut Romo and take a flyer on a draft pick? And how are you going to justify that to the team and the fans when we have a chance?

You going with a vet for now? Great, how about Kyle Orton or Brandon Weeden? Hell, let's go get Gradkoswski he's still around. You live in a fantasy world with others (at least you're not on ignore like a lot of them) who think just because we part ways with Romo it automatically gets better.

Fourth - honestly, as a longtime fan (I think you are) how does it feel to be on an island, looking at a boat full of Hall of Famers, GMs, coaches and men waving at you who have dedicated their entire lives to the game of football who understand his skill set and believe he can win a Super Bowl? Roger would look you dead in the eye and say you're flat out wrong.

The most pathetic thing of all is, if we go on to have success in the playoffs, or even win a Super Bowl, the most we'll get of any of these thousands of words and angst is "Damn, I'm happy we won and I'll admit I was wrong" That's it.

I guess at the end of the day -- you get the satisfaction of getting the same four posters to give you likes. That's all I can think of.

Romo plays small more often than not against teams with winning records. I'm not going into deep detail, it's getting boring. The guy is day to day now and we saw how bad he can be in a short week, it was like Game 1 all over again..

And yes save the money, go with a vet, draft a QB, and finish building the defense. Rome wasn't built over night and nobody expected us to win 8 games this year yet 6 of those teams are sub .500 so it's an illusion at this point...
