Am I the only one that is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

That is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

In 32 of the past 37 years that the Cowboys were not in the SB I was still excited to watch the "Big Game" - despite my team not being in it. My love for football and the excitement of a team being crowned a world champion was enough to draw me in. The biggest difference from the cowboys super bowl years versus non super bowl years was I only watch the pregame stuff for cowboys SB's. It didn't even matter who was the SB even when I despised both teams (NY/NE several years ago comes to mind) I still was eager to watch the game. This year is different. I really could care less about this game. I am much more interested in watching the Australian Open Men's final than watching the SB. The events that unfolded this year have really jaded me to football. I thought after a week I would be over our playoff lost, ready to move on - watch the pro bowl....watch the SB...and start gearing up for the offseason, FA, the draft etc. just like every year. However, this year I can't let the Dez call go (mostly because of how Bandino and the rest of the league/media has responded to it. Had they came out and admitted it was he wrong call and they messed up, I might have been able to move on. But this constant BS they are throwing at us (as if we were too stupid to figure it out on our own) and expecting us to go along with their BS excuses is insulting. Add in the handling of deflatgate which reeks of pushing the issue under the rug and displays a clear lack of morals and integrity by the league (the same league that acknowledges that the members of the NFL are role models for children), especially after 3-4 other occurrences when NE was found guilty of cheating. I also included how they handle off field issues with no consistency and at the discretion of the commissioner (unless there is a public outcry then we will be responsive), or the fact that the league admitted to collusion (not only a violation of the collective bargaining agreement but also federal law) yet penalize two teams for playing within the rules. Ohhh, and did I mention the wussification of the league?

I know this was a long rant, but am I the only one feels this way? If so, maybe I need therapy.

I'm more ambivalent than normal as well, mostly because I believe we should be there, not the Seahags. I am also sick of the British Columbian Seahawk bandwagoners. Two years ago, you never saw a single Seahawk piece of fan gear here, now "everyone" is a fan. So I want them to lose but the downside is, they would lose to the evile empire of Darth Belichick and and his young apprentice Darth Brady

I'm more saddened that the season is over. Not super stoked about the game - don't care much for either team.

Right there w/ ya.......

I'm completely fed up with the league. And after this Sunday....I may not watch another game. And I'm serious. I used to be hardcore football 24/7. But now....I can't even watch this knowing it's all BS. The cheating. The lies. The cover ups. I mean...I've watch players like Howie Long defend the league this week saying the cheating is gamesmanship?........Really? So now it's ok to cheat. This is good to know. Everybody does it. Some teams get punished. Some don't.
The integrity of the league is hot garbage right now....And I don't think there is a way to clean it up. The damage has been done. I look forward to the New USFL league that is supposed to start up in 2016. Maybe they can put football back into football. I know being a fan for more that 37 years...I've had my fill of "controversy" this year to last a lifetime. :(

Signed,

A fed up fan:mad:

I don't know about the rest of you...but I could care less if we won Super Bowl 50.
What is the point of being "champion" of a dumpster fire?

Because that is the state of the league right now..........

Other than being butthurt about losing, there's really no reason why people keep saying they're so disinterested in this game. From a football perspective, this is about as good as it gets.

I think I'm more disinterested in the game this year especially because Dallas had a real shot of being there. The past several seasons we weren't in the playoffs and zero chance of making to the Super Bowl. So, I feel the same way. Plus, I can't stand the Patriots and can't believe that they are in the Super Bowl yet again.

meh im into good chess matchups. seeing Seahawks D vs Pats O is good in a strategic sense. I'd much rather the 'Boys be there for sure without a doubt. But our Defense needs some work to compete on that level i feel. Next year! Im shocked that we even got to the playoffs this season. We were suppose to be bad. Really bad. Exceeded expectations. We are a "decent" pass rush away from SB L50.

Since LOOOOOOOONG before this year's playoffs, I've always thought that the officiating should never interfere with a game. And I've watched several games where I think the officials have improperly interfered. Until the league gets serious about officials getting it right, the entire credibility of the league is at stake.

Dean Blandino is a comedian who through an internship, became the VP of officiating for the entire league. They've hired him for his likeability, but he is MASSIVELY unqualified, having never referee'd a game. His internship should be terminated immediately, in my mind their mistake began when they promoted him to VP. He's a smooth talker, still an intern in my mind, who doesn't have football sense whatsoever.

Speak for yourself.......

I think the league is about to be hit w/ a huge wake up call when disgruntled fans stop paying 300.00 for Sunday ticket to watch fixed games....Attendence to NFL games starts going down. I think the NFL has hit it's peak....And is ripe for a new league to come in and steal it's thunder. Fans are fed up nation wide about the state of the league. And It's just not Cowboy fans being butt hurt over a blown call. Everywhere I read people are calling for Roger Goodell head. Blandino's head....Never in the history of this league has there been more turmoil.

I'm about the same as I always am. I never really get that excited about the Super Bowl. I'm young enough to vaguely remember those 90's Super Bowl teams and old enough to remember the Quincy Carter hey days. Its probably different for fans old enough to remember those 90 Super Bowl teams but I just sort of lose interest when my team is out of the post season. But i'll be watching. Sucks this year because I don't like either team in it. Last year, I atleast could root for the Seahawks.

Do what I'm doing. I've chosen to watch some classic Cowboys games. Today watching a week 12, 1977 matchup, Eagles at Cowboys. Dorsett went for 206 in this one.

I have no interest this year and this is probably the first time. I hate both teams so I cannot even root for one over the other. :(

Goodell is disgusting in my book. I'm tired of the NFL turning itself into the voice for social causes. Its FOOTBALL. And guess what, some of us don't agree with the positions you choose on some of your social causes. And honestly, I don't think it represents the NFL as much as it represents Roger Goodell. I'm ready for him to be gone, I'm ready for the trashy officiating to be improved, and I'm ready for the game to return to being a great game not a game driven by the desire to appeal to the lowest rung of the fan ladder.

I'm interested in seeing the best two teams play and the Seahawks and Patriots are the best two teams. The Lions couldn't overcome the refs or their own ineptitude because they weren't as good as the Cowboys. The Cowboys couldn't overcome a hobbled Aaron Rodgers and a controversial call because they weren't as good as the Packers. The Packers couldn't overcome their own buffoonery because they weren't as good as the Seahawks. The Seahawks could overcome all their mistakes because they were better than the Packers.

I keep it as simple as that. The best teams, which is determined by the one that wins that given game, always advance to the Super Bowl because the best teams are able to overcome mistakes, bad calls, turnovers, etc., to win the game.

So I just sit back and enjoy the game knowing that both teams earned their right to play in the big game. Hopefully, the Cowboys will earn the same right next year, and all the non-Cowboys fans whining about schedule, playoff seeding, bad calls, etc., (you know the stuff we're doing now) will just have to suck it up and endure it.

Nobody's going to boycott the league for good, despite their protestations about the refs, the game, etc. So all of it is simply glorified window dressing and faux outrage.

Relieve the blood pressure. Watch the game and be enjoy, by yourself or with friends and family. :)

exactly! get 2 or 3 scores on the pack to never get down to one call and give the zebras a chance to beat us. beat the dang lowly skins in the first game so we can get a real chance at being first seed in the first place to play at home throughout the playoffs. just be good enough to dominate and not give anyone a chance to pull an "agenda" on us. be clutch enough! next season! yeah i cant stand that the pats are back in it again especially given their proclivities to bend the rules but whateves. its their real last shot anyways. i can feel it. its lights out for that organizations after this. lets see how committed those fans are when they start having loosing seasons.
