Am I the only one that is completely disinterested in this year's SB?

that makes two of us i guess. we are probably in the minority here haha. i've moved on from the dez call. its hard i know. but as a spurs fan too (yes i know mavs fans) i also have learned you got to beat those dang zebras too! spurs dominated the heat last season enough that they took the zebras out of the picture.

I've seen two of my teams manhandled by the refs (2006 Mavs and 2014 Cowboys). I can get over it. And honestly, the Mavs was more egregious. I was over the Dez play an hour after.

as a spurs fan i was happy Dirk and co got to taste that ship victory in '11. Dirk earned it. I believe Romo and Co (witten, dez etc.) have more than earned a ship too. I hope they get it in SBL50.

Is it weird to wear a Cowboys hat to a Super Bowl party? Because that's what I'm doing.

Check out the league status. Only scandal and collusion with corrupt government gives you that for a multi-billion dollar business.

And they have it.

Again, that is league status. League money is distributed to the teams, and they are taxed.

I can understand how some might be disinterested in the SB with the Cowboys disappointing loss to Green Bay still fresh in the minds of some but if you're a true NFL fan SB Sunday is always an exciting day regardless if the Cowboys aren't participating. The Cowboys haven't been in a SB in 19 years and haven't even come close to reaching one since then so it's not like we're not use to this. After tomorrow we won't be seeing another NFL football game until July so I'm going to sit back and enjoy the game. Although the loss to Green Bay in the playoffs was deflating the Cowboys still had a real good season that was much better than anyone ever expected and it's given us all a much better feeling about the team heading into next season.

Instead of facing another offseason full of doom and gloom the 2014 season has left us feeling encouraged about the future rather than dreading it. I've been watching SB's since SB lV and the only one I was truly disinterested in was the 94 SB with SF vs San Diego. It was the first SB in 3 years the Cowboys missed and the wounds from their conference title loss to SF was still festering. I had a very difficult time watching that SB knowing the Cowboys could have been the first team in NFL history to three-peat. What made it even tougher was watching SF mow over San Diego knowing the Cowboys could have done the same thing.

I have never been interested in any SuperBowl that did not have the Cowboys playing in it. So no you are not the only one.

Thank you. I was about to post this distinction myself. Every so often, you just get tired of seeing "loose" for "lose" and "free reign" for "free rein" and other manglings of the language and have to speak up.
I feel that way to.

Nope, I got no interest either.

Knowing that we got screwed in the playoffs combined with the Pats cheating by deflating footballs and this SuperBowl has a giant asterisk next to it for me.

And for the record, punishing the Pats after the SB means jack..................what the hell, I would cheat to get to the SB also if I knew my punishment would come after the game..............take a draft pick, I would not even care. Who would not trade a 1st round pick for a trip to the SB?

Is there anybody on this board that would not take that deal? Dallas gives up their 1st round pick in the 2015 draft for a guaranteed trip to the 2016 SB next season?

you're interested. no big deal

Really I'm not interested. I may be interested in how other cowboys fans may feel about this game, but I couldn't care less about this game.

Thanks for your opinion on how I feel about the game

I'm not disinterested: I want the Seahawks to beat the Patriots.

I am pretty uninterested, though: I'm not that excited about watching it.

Not sure of the confusion of my use of the English language and where you think I mangled it.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary
dis·in·ter·est·ed adjective \-təd\
: not influenced by personal feelings, opinions, or concerns
: having no desire to know about a particular thing : not interested

Full Definition of DISINTERESTED
a : not having the mind or feelings engaged : not interested <telling them in a disinterested voice — Tom Wicker> <disinterested in women — J. A. Brussel>
b : no longer interested <husband and wife become disinterested in each other — T. I. Rubin>

This is exactly what I meant to convey in my original post.

I am always disinterested in Superbowls that do not include my beloved Cowboys. I never watch any playoffs games once the Cowboys are eliminated and only watch the SB for the commercials. I fact, I usually record the game and fast forward to the commercials. Football just isn't football without the Cowboys.

Primary meaning for "disinterested" is the most common usage -- not influenced and therefore objective, with no particular stake in a matter. Similar to not having the "mind or feelings engaged". And a husband and wife who are "disinterested" in each other may still not be wholly "uninterested" in each other and their well-being.

But perhaps that is what you meant: you are "disinterested" in the SB but not wholly "uninterested". However, that was not how I understood your post.

What I meant is I have no desire to watch the game...I couldn't care less about the outcome who wins. If I completely missed the game, it would be no sweat off my back...i.e. I wouldn't feel like I wouldn't feel like I missed out on something important. In prior years this was not the case....I did care if I watched the game.

I guess I should have said I have no interest in the SB this year had I known my words would have been dissected and analyzed.

I spent more time watching Django Unchained. All day today I have had the Django theme in my head.
