Am I the only one that thinks Dallas loses Sunday? And...

I'm not trying to be a "Negative Nancy" here.
And I'm certainly not wishing for it.
I hope I'm wrong. Truly.

But... I expect the Cowboys to not only lose, but do so to a Philly team that even knows prior to game time that they have no opportunity to make the playoffs.
I don't usually offer these kind of pessimistic expectations for my favorite team. But even I have had to finally admit... "It is what it is. We are who we are."

I'm sure to get flamed for the comments but that's just how I feel. This team is not ready yet.

I honestly hope I'm eating my words on Sunday.

That said, hope everyone had a merry X-Mas.
Happy holidays.

i think we will lose too. still, 9-7 after an absolutely horrible injury riddled year is pretty damned good. 10-6 would be miraculous.

FWIW, Vegas agrees with you (althought it's basically a toss-up... Iggles by 1).

I can definitely sense a board meltdown erupting around 6:15 Sunday.

I believe we will win on Sunday and also win in the Wild Card round against Minnesota (assuming we play them of course).

We are a much more talented team than our record would indicate but we can't seem to put it all together consistently. As we showed against our last 3 opponents, we have the talent to beat anyone but we have a nagging tendency to make crucial mistakes at critical times.

Too many penalties, too many turnovers, not enough big plays. But all of those can work themselves out quickly and we could be on our way to the SB or they won't and we'll be watching from home.

I do not believe that dumb statement by Parcells that "we are what our record says we are" and no one else believed it in 2003 when we went 10-6 and made the playoffs so why believe it now. We had Pittsburgh and Baltimore beat before throwing the games away. We completely overpowered the Giants and Commanders.

Our record is an indication of how poorly "what we are" has performed, not a direct reflection of "what we are".

We win Sunday 33-20. :starspin

In reference to your "Negative Nancy" comment:
Back in the early days of the DMN forum (pre Beavis) someone was referred to as a "Nattering Nabob of Negativity". That has always struck me funny. :lmao2:

That means the Cowboys are favored - home team gets 3 points by default.

As to all you ridiculous "the sky is falling" people on this board - why even come here and start a stupid thread like this? This thread has TROLL written all over it.

We'll spank the Eagles. Sure, we've had our issues, but theirs are more serious.

Seriously, they scored 3 points against the mediocre Commanders just a few days ago. What exactly are some folks so terrified of?

No, it doesn't.

Our losses against Washington, Arizona, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore had jack to do with injuries. The only came you can truthfully say we would've won if we were healthy is St. Louis. I dont think we would've beat the Giants with Romo regardless.

it's clear as night and day romo is still hurt. he is one of the most inaccurate qb's in the league since he returned. don't even look at the stats. if you watched all the games you could tell. losing a probowl punter that puts us in good position is also a huge loss. this punter is killing us. not to mention rb's, oline, cb's, wr's. put romo in the game for the rams and we are 10-6 maybe heading to 11-5. remember, 2 wins last year were COMPLETE flukes. this team is better than last year.

Aside from Romo, all everyone else being injured is a joke. This is football and guys get injured every week and teams dont go through an entire season without losing a valuable starter for atleast a few games. We got it handed to us by a Baltimore team that has damn near half their roster on IR and the Pats could go 11-5 despite the league MVP being out the entire season.

1. Pacman has been an average DB and horrible return guy. His absence was irrelevant.

2. Our punt return coverage was garbage before we lost our punter and was garbage last year as well. He was around just fine the Washington game and didnt get hurt til the end of the Arizona game.

3. Barber's loss was big as a pass blocker, but homers need to quit being in denial and act like he was having a good season running the ball cause he wasnt. And intentional or not, Choice was the focal point of the offense against Pittsburgh and New York and he was very affective. We havent missed alot at RB thanks to Choice.

4. What recievers have been injured? Miles Austin? He's still nothing more than a #4 until proven otherwise.

5. Kosier's loss was huge, but hardly any team doesnt lose someone valuable up front offensively or defensively for the season.

I think we are going to roll the Eagles myself, they already know they have virtually no chance at the playoffs and they will be eliminated by kickoff.

I dont see them putting up too much of a fight, so I am not really worried.

Besides, no point in worrying about a game that you have absolutely no control over. We should win, I think we will win, but if I am wrong and we get elminated then I guess it just wasnt meant to be this year. We regroup and try again next year.

Merry Christmas!!!

I am very nervous about the game too. Since it is a division game alot of things could happen since each team knows each other so well. And if the Eagles are out of the playoffs by the time we play them that could be even worse. They could pull out all the stops just to see us not make the playoffs.

Just my two cents

I really don't think it matters if Philly is eliminated or not. I still think we beat them either way. Right now, Reid is getting roasted for not running the ball more and is under a lot of scrutiny. I think we handle business with our backs to the wall.

What I'm not crazy about these type of threads is if indeed Dallas loses, you have your chest thumpers popping in here givin' us the 'I told you so'...and if they win it's a convenient "I'm so glad I was wrong, love the crow."

It's a very easy position to take.

everybody's entitled to their own opinion. i have a feeling we lose a close game, again by giving up one or two stupid plays like we've done against the better teams this year.
yeah, we beat the giants the last time, but they were missing several key players.
yeah, the eagles lost to the skins, but that's mcflab's inconsistancy. watch, he'll be on fire this week.

We will win and there will not be a board eruption on Sunday evening at 6:15pm CST.

Put that in your pipe & smoke it Vegas.

I actually feel good about this. I have no clue why, but I think the Cowboys will surprise me and everyone else with a gutsy performance. I'm thinking a repeat of the Commanders' game where they came off the bye determined to not go quietly in the night. I almost want to slap myself for being so high about them, but I just don't have that "man the Cowboys are in a for poundin" feeling the pit of my stomach.

Neither do I. I think we finally begin to put it all together starting Sunday. I think Garret responds positively to what has probably been some scrutiny from others (coaches) behind closed doors for his lack of creativity.

A heavy dose of Choice complimented by an occasional face plant by MB3 will setup the pass nicely. Garrett finally gets it and we go into the playoffs on a high note!

These rose colored shades rock! :)

The injuries are alway a factor. I agree.

But in our case... we flat out lost games and injuries had nothing to do with it.

I will only go back the last couple of games. We owned the Steelers and lost. We had Baltimore and lost. Those game costing last to runs had nothing to do with injuries.

We could EASILY be going for 12-4 right now... but we arent. Its the players fault. Not injuries or anything else.

I'm just really hopeful that a win comes Sunday not only to get into the playoffs but, more importantly, so you can remove that crazy Opera picture in your sig. :lmao2:
