Cooper was targeted 104 times in 2021 (his last season in Dallas) and had less than 60 yards receiving in ten games.
well you need to go deeper than that.
how many were catchable? how many were 1st downs, or td's how many targets did lamb and shultz have? etc

They were all proven dead wrong. Lamb took care of that.

I think these are casual fans that don’t even care about salary cap and roster management.
Yeah Lamb wasn’t going to do anything without Coopers brilliant and precise route running ability? lol And now a guy with the same career numbers is no better than Tavon Austin? Just crying to hear themselves at this point.

What happened to leading the league in drops and disappearing in games, especially away games?

I agree they should have gotten more for Cooper but he had pooped in the church pew in Dallas and was already out the door.
All Pro Jalen Ramsey was sold for a 3rd. The 5th round return hurt but it was to be expected.

The problem was relying on a recuperating Gallup and never was James Washington to bridge the gap.

Lol…..right…….it was the Cooper triple teams that were making lamb better than he was. Let’s see what lamb can do against the #1 corner on the other team.

Bingo. And not featuring pollard more in the passing game and not getting Turpin involved.

He occupied an entire secondary and gave every DC we faced a lot of sleepless nights! lol Lamb was just fortunate enough to watch a master at work!

Who said anything about replacing Cooper?

He had some baggage too. There are reasons he is no longer a Cowboy. Let's not forget that.
And DO tell me what reasons are those?

This font office is PLAINLY STUPID.... if you even think that this FO is capable in some matter YOU are even more stupid

It's really funny how some here thought we'd be able to pay Cooper and Lamb. Cooper was going to be gone either way, the only negative is that we didn't get enough in return for the Cooper trade - but that was partly on Cooper, he did not look great his final season here.

Anyone crying about the Cooks trade don't know football.

Not a big game player! Cooper was content to sit on the sidelines when he should have been asking to get in the game.
It was a criticism even with the Raiders. He is really good when he's focused, but he zones out and seems disinterested at other points which is why game to game numbers are so wildly inconsistent.

Like I said before, we went over all that when he was traded. If you really want to know, go back and read the threads. They didn't go anywhere. None of it matters now, he's gone. And has been.

There were multiple reasons Cooper got traded. Some made public, while others didn't.

I didn't say anything about the front office, you did. So why the insult???

What difference does it make? We did nothing with him and nothing without him.

Amari Cooper was replaced day #1.

Cooper was traded to the Cowboys to be a #1 receiver. They desperately needed a "true" #1.

However, when CeeDee got over 200 yards more than Cooper in the 2021 season, it sent a clear message that there was a new #1 receiver for the Cowboys. Also, he was playing for far less money. Not only that, CeeDee was younger and his future had a much higher trajectory.

Nobody is going to pay 20 million a year for a #2 receiver.

This year, the Cowboys needed a receiver to come in and at least challenge as a solid #2 receiver. The idea is, if Gallup cannot demonstrate the ability to repeat his productivity prior to the injury, then Cooks is the #2 guy. Of course, the best scenario would be for Gallup and Cooks both becoming very productive and placing Lamb in the slot more often.

where was this out pouring for coooooooop when he was here?
all i ever heard round here was that he was a bum who disappeared in big games...over rated by the fan base and over paid by the front office.
he gets traded and now he's unreplaceable.
wish you people would make up your minds.
