They have done enough so far to reach the NFC Championship game.
The question remains is the following.....will the players esp the offense?????
A lot is going to fall on Dak.
This season coming up is going to see who is right about this great Dak debate.
As far as I’m concerned if Dak lays another egg in the playoffs, I think Jerry and Stephen will finally come to their senses and hopefully move on from this guy.
I personally don’t think Dak can do it but I hope he proves me wrong and at least gets us to a championship game.

Cooper 8 years in the league = 595 catches, 8,236 yards, 13.8 ypc, 55 TDs

Cooks 9 years in the league = 630 catches, 8,616 yards, 13.7 ypc, 49 TDs

Cooks 8 1/2 months older than Cooper

Cooper has a salary of $20 million in 2023 and a salary of $20 million in 2024 for total compensation of $40 million

Cooks has a salary of $12 million in 2023 since Houston is paying $6 million of his salary. In 2024 Cooks is owed $16.5 million in salary and bonuses. Total compensation we would have to pay Cooks for 2023 and 2024 is $28.5 million.

We all know trading Cooper last year was a huge mistake. However, the move to get Cooks was a good move. We need to stop worrying about what happened last year. It is done and over with. The front office seems to be making the moves to give us a chance this year. This is the first offseason I have been happy about in a while. They have added 2 bona fide starters to the roster while only losing 1 (McGovern).

Able to keep LVE? He signed for peanuts.
So what, Dallas has money for CeeDee and Diggs, so the LVE signing at 3% of the salary cap (after the top 5 contracts are paid) and the Cooks signing allows them fill needs without having to choose between Diggs and CeeDee.

LVE's signing is 40% above what the average salary is for the 47 players outside the top 5 contracts. That's very respectable. Amari, at 20 M , would have been 9% of the teams salary cap. You just can't do that 9% stuff to your best 11 players and have anything resembling a team.

Coop did not toe the line and bow down to Jethro and company and that is why he is gone.
Not sure if you are joking but there's actually some truth from what I have heard/read. Practiced when he wanted to, but refused FO's request to do community service. Let's see if he's still on the Browns team this time next year.

Maybe if you WHINE enough, AC will come back but I doubt it. The only reason I don't put you on ignore is cuz of that uber cute baby in your avatar. Kid could model.
So appropriate that's an infant -- if the baby was crying it would have been perfect.

Who scored against the rams in the playoffs? Who scored against the niners in the playoffs? Who did this with trash at QB? Who put up better numbers with Jacoby 3rd string Brissett than the amazing DC starter?
So a players gets signed off of another team, walk through the doors of Cowboys stadium, drinks the holy water and he turns to God of his position.
But we hate the QB...hmm
At least we got rid of fat arse zeke so there is a plus getting rid of shhit in Dallas.
Time for you to.change your name.

Anyone know the real reason why Cooper got traded away? I can't imagine it had anything to do with the cap!

I actually disagree. I think Cooks will be a quality replacement. Not to mention that we might still get a WR in the draft. But yes, I think Cooks will be a nice replacement. He's very underrated and dealt with horrible QBs in Houston. He should be delighted at the improvement in QB now. Yes, Dak is a significant improvement over what he had in Houston. Will he be elite? Probably not, but he doesn't have to be. With Lamb, he just has to help take the attention that Lamb would be getting. He can also be useful, as a result, by drawing DBs away from other players like Gallup. I think this is going to be an underrated move for us.

Outside of Dak, Amari is probably the most overrated player by this fanbase…

Who said anything about replacing Cooper?

He had some baggage too. There are reasons he is no longer a Cowboy. Let's not forget that.
What baggage did he have? He had a number of lower body injuries and continued to play with them. He never complained and made a lot of plays for us. The reasons he’s no longer here was the amount of money he was making according to Jerry. Plus, he was unhappy with him for missing a couple of games due to an illness. Jerry said he moved on from some players, because of availability, but ended up re-signing a receiver who missed a number of games the previous season and several games last season.

Laugh at the ignorance shown in this post
Poor math skills too
Cooks isn’t 20 mil a year
He’s not even 20 mil over the 2 years left on his contract
She’s a little exaggerated since they are a years difference in their age

I don't get where this is coming from? Look at Cooks' career and Amari's career side by side. They look very similar. Both are good route runners, had a bunch of good seasons, but never took that next step to get into the conversation as the best WR in the league.

9 seasons
132 games
8,616 yards
13.7 yards per reception
49 TDs
Traded 4x

8 seasons
125 games
8,236 yards
13.8 yards per reception
55 TDs
Traded 3x

1 player is Amari, the other Cooks. You can't tell me Cooks is half of Amari because it's very similar outcomes. These guys are a lot closer than you may realize. Also your 2 year difference in age is actually 9 months. Cooks was born 9/93 and Cooper 6/94.

What happened to leading the league in drops and disappearing in games, especially away games?

I agree they should have gotten more for Cooper but he had pooped in the church pew in Dallas and was already out the door.

Cooper like Zeke, overvalued, overpaid and way over exaggerated on what they meant to the offense. The irreplaceable 865… at least with Cooks we don’t have to pretend that the “#1” WR is really a #2.

Cooper was replaced by CeeDee. We’re looking for a solid number two. Gallup didn’t return to form after his injury last season. He could be in a battle with Cooks, and the loser could end up our number three. We still may not be done at receiver.

People don't understand this. This is a glorified Tavon Austin. He will be next to useless with this QB
I can’t argue against that strongly, I can only hope you’re wrong.

Same reason I didn’t want OBJ here on some deal that was tied to his numbers. That was begging for trouble and I truly thought that’s where this was headed.

I wanted Hopkins but I’ll choose to be happy with an apparent compromise.

Don’t forget we want to run the ball more and we already have Lamb and what should be a better version of Gallup.
