Signed by Cowboys Amari Cooper traded to Cowboys **merged**

They weren't going to draft a QB #1 anyway.

These trade will still hurt double time if Cooper ends up being a bust here and the Cowboys lose most of the games the rest of the way giving the Raiders a top ten or five pick we could have had.

You mean with a Receiver that is in steady decline for the last years and leads the league in drops for 2 seasons in a row?

This guy will not bring us to the Playoffs so its basically suicide to give up a 1st for him.

As long as this inept Playcalling continues and a QB that cant see the most wide open guys when just a tiny bit of pressure occurs we could have Prime Randy Moss and he would look like a JAG.

This Pick will very likely be Top15. If so we could have used this Pick to either draft or move up for a Top QB that will be needed after the trash Season that Dak is putting together again.
Noticed you left out the 2800 yards and 17TDs the first 3 years and he is still 24

One positive- this trade probably seals the fate of Garrett. Win now, or else. This move screams desperate. Regardless of what Jerry and Stephen are saying, I sense this FO is tiring of watching a team that was the #1 seed in the NFC two seasons ago, fritter away two seasons without even making the playoffs.

If this team doesn’t make the playoffs after this trade, Garrett is probably gone.

There goes any potential of drafting a first round QB if this season doesn't go well and we need one to replace Dak. This trade really better work out and help Dak/the Offense be more productive.
DAK isn't going anywhere.

People who think that are just not following the same team I am

If this trade had been made in the off season .

we would all be saying .

"Finally a WR instead of blah blah blah"

This year, they said they don't need that alpha dog WR. That they can win spreading the ball around and working a WR by committee approach. It wasn't working so they panicked and traded a #1 pick for a WR that had the highest drop rate in the NFL next to the guy they just cut 8 months ago.

I agree- although I think the offensive line wasn't anticipated to be this average even without Fred.

The formula worked 2 years ago because teams doubled Dez + had to worry about the run + #1 line. The question is with Cooper will that require a double team - right now, no team needs to do that and it kills the Dak offense.

They also need to insert Rico a lot now.

I agree. If he doesn’t step up and win. It’s over for him. Cooper is a talent. He’s only 24 but my issue is. Garrett fired. New coach does not have a first round pick.

I was more interested in the defence in this draft. We may need a top safety to really make our defence stronger. We don't need first rounders for WRs. We can find good ones late in the draft.
That's fine. If you value the pick, that makes sense.

But people here are disappointed we wouldn't take a 2019 quarterback. There is little of value there.

Also, the 2019 draft class sucks for QB. Why would we waste a pick on that crap?

Every year, we hear about how bad the QB class is and every year, there are teams falling all over themselves drafting them.

There is no realistic year where the QB class will ever be able to fit the demand. And it is also rare that a team can grab the right one when they need it most.

It is one of the easiest positions to talk yourself into. There is rarely a marriage of need and talent. More often than not, GMs get beer goggles on when evaluating the position and 5s become 10s.

If Cooper was in the 2018 would you have drafted him

I would have in a heartbeat

24 yrs young and runs a 4.42 with 3 years NFL experience
