Signed by Cowboys Amari Cooper traded to Cowboys **merged**

Noticed you left out the 2800 yards and 17TDs the first 3 years and he is still 24

This is not a Leauge of what have you done two years ago. Hes trash since than. Hes also in the Concussion Protocol right now and likely out for 1-2 weeks means he cant even practice with the Team through the bye.

I didnt ealize Cooper was only 6 months older than Ridley. This trade doesnt bother me. If we would have drafted a wr in 1 next year he would of had minimal impact. See Gallup as an example....I thi k we did ok

The irony of this statement is that the only way this trade works out is if Cooper plays like he did as a rookie.

Over the past three seasons, Cooper has had a drop rate of 13.62 percent, which ranks fourth-worst in the NFL (among qualifying receivers) behind Torrey Smith (16.82), J.J. Nelson (15.91) and Raiders teammate Seth Roberts (14.39).

Wrote Scott Barrett of PFF: “Cooper led the league in drops (18) and drop rate (20.0 percent) in his rookie season (2015), but then seemed to get past the issue in 2016, dropping only four passes. In 2017, Cooper again led the league in drop rate (17.2 percent). Not only are these numbers bad, but they’re historically bad. Since 2007, there have only been three players to see at least 100 targets and post a drop rate of 17 percent or worse: Braylon Edwards (2007 and 2008), Greg Little (2011) and Cooper (2015 and 2017).”

That’s why I love Jerry. He wants to win. I hate Garrett and linehan and Dak but Jerry I can’t blame him.

Yes, I'm glad that he wants to win, as do I, but I absolutely HATE giving up first round picks unless it's for a TOP player. Maybe Cooper is a top player, but, like I said, we don't need a first to get a top WR. We can find them later in drafts.

These trade will still hurt double time if Cooper ends up being a bust here and the Cowboys lose most of the games the rest of the way giving the Raiders a top ten or five pick we could have had.

You're right. It will hurt.

But I'm willing to see if he's going to be a meaningless addition to the offense.

He instantly becomes the best receiver on this team, which has to mean something.

Ive made better decisions laying in my own vomit

No knock on cooper i like him but we need our draft picks

He practiced today

DAK isn't going anywhere.

People who think that are just not following the same team I am

If this trade had been made in the off season .

we would all be saying .

"Finally a WR instead of blah blah blah"

Some believe the team should draft a QB and that Dak isn't the answer. I want him to be successful but would be open to the Cowboys eventually getting a new QB if he isn't the answer.

Jerry better hope he lives up to that 1st round pick the next 9 games because if he doesn't how in the hell does he justifiy giving him 14-15m next year on a 5th round option and if they don't pick up the option then he goes elsewhere and we basically got him for 9 games for a 1st round pick. The only way this works for JJ is if Cooper becomes the stud everyone thinks he is right out of the gate with us anything less is a disaster....Think Roy Williams

You are of course assuming Jerry has a rational plan

You would be wrong

Every year, we hear about how bad the QB class is and every year, there are teams falling all over themselves drafting them.

There is no realistic year where the QB class will ever be able to fit the demand. And it is also rare that a team can grab the right one when they need it most.

It is one of the easiest positions to talk yourself into. There is rarely a marriage of need and talent. More often than not, GMs get beer goggles on when evaluating the position and 5s become 10s.
Strawman. Last year's draft was a de facto great QB
Weren't we saying the same thing the year Goff and Wentz came out?
Uh...

no

But I can't speak on your behalf

...Back in 2008, Jones tried to take advantage of a terrible Detroit Lions team that was in the midst of an 0-16 season. Instead, he was the one that got the short end of a horrendous deal for the Cowboys.

Dallas sent three picks to the Lions — first-, third- and sixth-round selections — in exchange for Williams and a seventh-rounder, which they traded to the Falcons to move up in the fifth round. Needless to say, it’s a move Jones wishes he didn’t make.

"I’d love to have that trade back," he said in 2011.

It wasn’t just the loss of draft picks that hurt Dallas, either. It was the money Jones threw at Williams in the days following the trade. The Cowboys inked Williams to a five-year, $45 million extension with more than $20 million guaranteed....

Brace ourselves for the next wave of bad news, I suppose.... Cooper extended for $100m/5yrs???
