I guess the thing that really kills me about this trade is that wide receiver is not the handicap of this team. In yesterday’s game I saw receivers running wide open all over the field.

The issue right now is with conservative coaching and a QB who both isn’t reading the field well and isn’t calling out the incoming blitzers.

If Dak can’t find Beasley wide open in the center of the field how is he going to find Cooper?

For sure we would have gotten a better player at 9th overall next year.

Cooper wouldn't have made the difference between a win and a loss yesterday.

Yes, I knew we were competing with the Eagles, so I can see the logic for throwing in a first. I just wonder why we didn't consider moving Lee? Don't the Raiders have 3 first rounders now with the Mack trade? Couldn't we have used a 3rd and Lee? To me, that would make sense.
I think trading Lee is still a good idea.

Well, on the bright side, I suppose that this puts a lot of pressure now, not only on Garrett and Linehan, but also Dak. He was clearly struggling with not much in the way of WRs. Now he's got one, and a high value one. So, this could be a shot at him too. I still think a better coach would help Dak, but maybe this helps us there too.

Enough with the Dak issue ...how much more do we need to see jeez the guy STINKS and no coach no Wr are going to make him a quality QB....problem here is Jerry is all in on Dak so lets go watch some baseball at this point..the misery and waste will continue till "Dak" do us apart I guess....

How do you watch our entire season and not notice the Cowboys badly need a #1 option.

Just having a #1 option makes Dak, Zeke, and Beasley better.

Wait, I'm confused here. I thought this organization said that it didn't need a number one WR and that the WRs on the roster could get the job done and would be even better than last year because Dez is not around demanding the ball. Ergo, instead of forcing the ball to Dez, the ball could be more evenly distributed and make everybody better.

That was the analysis that was done in the offseason and now you are telling me that it is a total pile of horse crap and we actually do need a number one WR?

That begs the question, if this front office was so wrong in their evaluation of the WR core to start the season, then why would we not think they are just as incompetent to correctly analyze and evaluate if Cooper is the magic silver bullet to fix all our offensive problems?

Just when I thought the team was making wiser decisions with some type of long term plan they go and do this?? More crap from management. It apparently never went away.

Yes, and here's my logic. The Raiders have 3 first round picks this upcoming draft, right? From my memory, wasn't Gruden a big fan of experienced players? The Raiders LBs have been their biggest weakness this season. If you look at what Lee has done in helping LVE and Jaylon, that is something else that Gruden values. So, this could be the sort of move that the Raiders go for with Gruden being there. I suppose it'd have to wait until after the season to see what first round pick the Raiders are more inclined with surrendering for Lee, but I do think that the Raiders would be fine with making that sort of transfer. Worth a go anyway.

I guess you can cut Thompson and get a 4th back now.

How would that work? If that's possible, then that's certainly helpful for this move too. Essentially, we traded a first for Cooper and a 4th if that's true, which isn't a bad value, especially if we can turn Lee into a first rounder as well.

This thread is 58 pages long so I'm not going to go through it and check.

Has someone said how this trade was really a 1st for Cooper and a 4th? Since we'll probably cut Thompson now and get back the 4th round compensatory pick ?

Next. Level.
