Prescott's first year in the league along with the first half of 2017 were very, very good.

He may be more talented than what you perceive.

That was pre-Atlanta ...……….we are now in post-Atlanta

That pre-Atlanta dude is gone bro, and he aint coming back.

What would you give for Lee?

It depends on the team and who the coach is. I had a look at the Raiders roster, and I think they look quite in need for a LB. I reckon Gruden might be willing to part ways with a 2nd, especially since Lee is the sort of chap that Gruden likes. While Lee does get injured a lot, he is an experienced player, and he's clearly the sort of chap that would be a coach on the field. Plus, I recall how much he glossed on Lee on MNF when he was calling our games. So, he clearly likes him, and I think a 2nd, as injured as Lee tends to be, wouldn't be a bad move for the Raiders. However, considering the FO would want a say in it, let's call it a 3rd. So, I'd say a 2nd or a 3rd from the Raiders.

If Cooper was in the 2018 would you have drafted him

I would have in a heartbeat

24 yrs young and runs a 4.42 with 3 years NFL experience

Ummm if Cooper was in that draft, he would not cost a ton of money and only be available for 1.5 years and have to re-sign him for even more. Why do people keep comparing this to a draft pick? It's nothing close.

Before the Cooper trade, I had us finishing 7-9 or 8-8 or so. The D is tough enough to split games, all of our games are close no matter the opponent.

You're conveniently forgetting we have a lower-mid tier QB.

Tough enough to win some games, bad enough to lose some others.

I'm not so sure about that. Maybe I'm a little overly keen on Dak, and that would certainly be a fair criticism as I do defend him a lot given the circumstances. However, taking into account Linehan and Co, I'm not so sure that Dak's the reason we've lost a lot of games the last 2 years. I think the playcalling has been absolutely abysmal, and I think that has been highly detrimental to Dak. I think Dak has shown that he does have the tools to succeed. He actually threw some good balls yesterday that were fairly deep. So, I think he's got the capability of being at least mid-tier or slightly above that. The problem is that Garrett and Linehan haven't exactly helped him reach that potential that I think he has. Thus, this move may be a shot to the coaches (as stated previously) that they must now produce better play calls. Also, as I've said previously, I'm keen to let the next coach see what he can make of Dak. If Dak is the sort of QB that you say he is, then he would probably not be so successful with the next coach. At that point, I'd do what I can to get Tua, especially given my concerns about this years QB class.

That pre-Atlanta dude is gone bro, and he aint coming back.

And why not? Because he has no support system here. Our coaches have no way to figure out how to get him back on track. Young QBs need good coaching. Look at all the good QBs over the years.

Eli- Tom Caughlin
Ben R - Cowher and Tomlin
Brady - Bill
Brees- Payton
Wilson - Carroll
Goff- McVay
Mahomes - Reid
Flacco - Harbaugh

All of those guys have coaches who can scheme to their strengths. We are leaving Dak to fend for himself. His QB coach is Kellen Moore, a guy he beat out and forced him to quit the league because no one wanted him. That is Dak's coach...

Look at 2016. Romo and Sanchez were in his ear. Not a fan of either that much but both were vets and know the game and how to play QB in this league. Moore is none of that.

He sucked pre and post Atlanta. He never displayed real franchise QB skills. Everything was cheap, gimmicky, sandlot football that wasn't sustainable. Even this game against the Jaguars that had everyone thinking he was the MVP again was more of the same. It's not going to work consistently. You don't win that way in this league.

It's odd how quality coaching is just unimportant around here? Scheme sucks along with the HC and OC who have never accomplished anything? No big deal..

I think we also need to take a wait and see approach. I expect in two weeks cooper to have a decent game. With him or without him i think we were going to beat the titans (although they haven't been bad). The true test is going to come on the road once again. Can we get this offense going on the road?

We will see.

I wouldn't say cheap and gimmicky.

I'd call Dak's better play opportunistic, and competitive enough to win some games.

Dak is true grit. His will to win is unmatched.

However, he's not good so I agree with you there.

You people cry about everything, why the hell are you'll even cowboys fan.

And agreeing with every move no matter how bad makes one a "homer". The majority are somewhere in between, and this is just one move they don't particularly like. Not liking this move doesn't make everyone a crybaby just like you perhaps liking it doesnt make you a homer.

When did everything in life become so polarized?

I liked cutting Dez. I don't particularly like trading a first for Cooper. It's just an opinion, man.

Additionally, with the defence that we've been building, a slightly above mid-tier QB is actually not a bad place to be if you have a top defence. Worse QBs than Dak have won Super Bowls with excellent defences. See Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer. I don't think we have Ray Lewis on our team, mind you, but we do have a very good defence. If we can finally get a top DT (and actually, Woods is looking quite good at his spot), I think our defence can take us over the top.

People think coaching does not matter in pro sports. When all signs say it absolutely does. No matter if you are a pro or not, coaching matters, especially in a league where every team has tons of talent. This isn't college where you can just out talent people like Bama does.

Players have to execute but if they are not even put in a position to win to start out, then we already lost before the game begins. How many times do we take the field and think we have the better staff on our side? Hardly ever.

Do you think Mahomes and Goff would look like that with these coaches and scheme? Absolutely not.

I just found out about this... I'm totally flabbergasted.... This is either going to be an epic fail or a major success... No grey area here...
