American Idol season 11

theme for the contestants will be songs from the '80s. which songs would you want the contestants to sing?
 
did anyone here watch tonight? who did you like & who did you not like?
 
Okay, this will sound really weird but If Patsy Cline and Reba McIntyre had a kid, it would be Skylar from American Idol. She is fantastic. She really does have the whole package.

Tonight I liked Colton, Jessica and Skylar. Hollie was good as well.

Deandre needs to get off of my TV screen. He can take his hair flippin' act back to wherever it was he came from.

Elise can rock but I didn't think she did a GREAT job with the Foreigner song.

Joshua is okay but for me he is just so-so. He has great range in his voice but the tonality of his voice isn't my cup of tea.

P2 has some great performances then sometimes he has some very average ones. Tonight was average. Liked that he had his brother on stage but it was just okay.

If the World is a just place then the bottom three will be...

Elise
Deandre
Joshua

And Deandre finally goes home.
 
Skylar was the best. Surprised by her performance tonight. But I do think she'll have the best career out of this group.

Jessica was good as always.
 
Jessica is my favorite so I have very high standards and tonight, she was just so-so. But, her duet w/ Joshua was a sure fire winner.

Elise and Hollie are in trouble.

B3 will be

I agree that Elise will go home. I liked Joshua, Jessica, Deandre, and Colton! Skylar was very good but she's not my style.

i so hope you're right on that.
 
A lot of the AI voting is based on momentum, and not solely on the one performance. that may be the only thing that save Elise. She totally screwed up with her song selection, and her second choice (Hallelujah) was not a good one, either. She should have done something like "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benetar, "Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks, or maybe something by Heart. She is a rocker, and should not try to match ballads against Jessica, or even Hollie for that matter.

Bottom 3: DeAndre, Hollie, and Elise.

Elise absolutely killed it last week, and that may save her. I think Deandre goes home. He is not in the same league with Joshua, and Colton seems to be riding the swell of 12 year old girl votes.

Philip (probably the only CD I would buy when this is over) and Jessica are my top two overall (not just for the night).
 
here's the one thing i wish idol would do. you know how one of the voting methods on the voice is downloading your favorite contestant's songs & the sales from that go towards the contestants' vote total? i think idol should do that. what do you all think?

i think he goes home too. he's just had way too many bad performances. if it's hollie, however, who gets the least amount of votes then i think the save is used on her.

Two out of three ain't bad I guess. While I like Hollie, I know the judges were a bit hard on her as she had some problems but she was good enough to stay. I just don't see Joshua staying for the long haul.


And thank God the hair flippin' machine is gone.

same here. i found it to be very annoying. at least hollie was safe. i was relieved about that.
 
This week they are singing SONGS OF THIS DECADE.

Elise and Hollie need to bring it or they are outta here.
