i presume he hasnt had any in like a year?

either way...dont think football helmet hits are the smart choice with a "potentially lethal" brain problem

It seems you have a rare talent... You should really pursue this. Im sure with the small glimpse of pure brilliance you've displayed here, any med school will give you a full ride....

I am rooting for him and hope he goes on to have a full and healthy life from this point on but I can't help thinking the whole situation is too risky for any team. I do fall on the side of trust the doctors that he is okay to play if they say so but they better be 100% convincing that he is healthy and this is not something that can be retriggered by playing football. Before I cut a young player to give him a spot on the roster, I'd better know it is highly unlikely that I will be dealing with him having lingering effects from this ordeal. I hope it all works out but I don't want to cut one of the promising young DL for him only to see him go on IR or retire by week 4.

Your worries are unfounded. His parents and specialists have already done all that for you, and he is cleared -- that means there are no extraordinary risks. This guy is smart enough to do whatever he wants to in life. Born in Nigeria, he came to this country and tested into the 9th grade at 12 years of age.

He may not make the cut, but he deserves a shot, and doesn't deserve all the second guessing.

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but it's a good article on him and his recovery.

Now I'm really rooting for Okoye. I'm amazed that this was such a secret, though, ever since Dallas signed him in May. I understand Okoye and his family are entitled to their privacy, though his comeback from such a terrifying illness is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.

My guess the delay was to protect the privacy of Okoye. Knowing the cruelty of the press, I'm actually glad with the integrity of the Cowboys through the entire sequence. I'm hoping against all for his success. I don't mind now, concerning becoming informed. I almost feel that I didn't deserve even the story of a hero.

I know what you mean. I've heard speculations about Okoye that ranged from diabetes to a psychological disorder. Now that we know how seriously ill he was, a lot of people could be feeling a bit guilty (myself included) about trying to guess.

Yeah, Broaddus had said that Amobis issues were mental not physical, or something to that effect - I don't think he said he was crazy. Guess he meant that a different way than it came across.

They had a tweet saying when Broaddus was asked about Amobi he did the finger circling around his head"he is crazy" reference.
