An Elite defense with Dak could be enough

No hate intended, but looking at the Cowboys schedule, I have a hard time finding more than 9 wins. That may be just enough to win the crappy NFC East, but I also wouldn't put it past Philly to win 9. That could possibly knock Dallas out of the playoffs.

I think we all can agree that only the winner of the East is going to the playoffs. There is no way a wildcard comes from the East.

Only thing easier than the NFC East is the NFC North. Last year 2 playoff teams came out of the East. I think Cowboys will win 10 to 11 games this upcoming season

Wait, so the East is better than the North? Too funny. That would mean the Cowboys are better than the Pack and the Eagles are better than the Vikings. Try again.

I'll also take the Bears over Washington. Probably would take the Lions over the Giants as well.

I'm glad you have a high opinion of your Cowboys. But could you name those 11 games you will be winning? The Cowboys do have a fairly easy schedule, but even if they sweep their division games, I still only see 9 wins at the most.

Packers, Rams, Cincy, Tampa, Colts, Titans, Vikings...No better than 2-5 there, sorry for the honesty.

We said that last year and Egirls got in at 9-8 at new 7th seed . Just saying. And both were one and done of course.

But the point is with easier division and schedule it presents an opportunity to get more than one team in.

Good question . Our schedule is being touted as one of the easiest but I see it differently as well.

I look at games we’ll be favored in. Fortunately for us there are some we wouldn’t be if we didn’t have them at home like Colts. But we have Vikes on the road which we should be dogs unless Minn suks this year.

The clear favs outside our division and obvious dogs we’ll be in TB, Cinn, LA, GB & Titans.

But the rest we’ll all be favored in except maybe at Egirls . So that’s 5-7 games we won’t be favored to win. We might win one of those . And we’ll probably get upset by a couple we shouldn’t .

10-7 looks like a realistic number to me and that’s assuming no season ending key injuries.

If you can't stop the run, the opposing offense has a rather lopsided advantage.

Yep.. it’s the most basic function of the defense. It opens everything else up for offense.

And if you can’t run the ball offensively it puts more pressure on your QB, OL and defense cause you aren’t controlling time of possession.

Yeah, outside of GB you have Chicago, Minn and Det . What the hell has any of those team done outside of GB none of them have done a damn thing in a long time.

It's a bit rich that a Cowboys fan is talking about other teams having not done a damn thing in a long time.

This is about which division currently has teams that provide a tougher challenge when you play them. What division has the teams that are harder to beat? That would decide the "easier" division.

Packers over Cowboys for sure. Vikings over Eagles for sure. Bears over Washington for sure. And the Lions have been on the rise under Dan Campbell. I certainly would rather play the Giants crap roster than the Lions halfway decent roster.

That is your opinion outside of GB the North is a joke. You are entitled to your opinion not the facts. Fact is outside of GB the North has not won jack and fact is how many years since GB won a damn thing? You come here to troll the Cowboys and yet your division has not done anything You talk about rich? lol You certainly are.

Did I trigger you? Show me one post where I "trolled" the Cowboys. You seem mad, just relax, it's going to be ok. The NFC North is currently a stronger division than the NFC East, any credible person will tell you the same.

Good luck this season. Looking forward to November 13th in Lambeau.

Not triggered in the least. I find it funny that you talk about how poor the East is and yet can't recognize that the North is no better.

If we are going by numbers, Cowboys had an elite defense in 2016 where they were top 5 in points allowed and 2018 where I believe they were top 10 in points and yards.

So, what is the definition of elite defense because Dak had his chance on both years. It may not look elite to you but stats say otherwise.

Our Offense looks pretty mediocre this year.. maybe I'm wrong, hopefully I'm wrong, but if so yeah top tier D gonna shut us down!! We better run the ball a bunch and hope our run schemes have improved cuz Dallas D will be good also.

I dont agree. I think our Wrs are pretty damn good, especially if the rookie 3rd rounder plays well. Gallup in a more featured roll I think is going to be damn good. I think the team will be much quicker this year to give Pollard much more time if Zeke is avg 3.3 ypc this year.

First of all welcome to the Zone. Nice to see a Packer fan. I responded to one of your earlier post and didn’t even realize you’re new or from there.

I have a good friend who lives in East Troy and have been to a Cowboys game at Lambeau. Just loved it up there. Have traveled to several opposing venues and Green Bay was my favorite.

For years we have been calling our division the NFC Least but surprisingly last year the North cumulatively actually had a worst record than us. I’ve argued in recent years that there is no other division in NFC we could win.

But beyond Green Bay the North doesn’t have much more to write home about than the East. It’s marginal either direction. Not sure if it’s really worth boasting about. I’d stick to boasting about your Packers, their wonderful history and fans. Some of the best I’ve encountered around the county,

I wasn't "boasting" about the North. Someone said it's a "easier" division to play in than the East. That just isn't factual. The Vikings are pretty clearly a stronger team than the Eagles. And I think the Bears are a notch above Washington. The Lions seem to be heading in the right direction under Dan Campbell. Division games in the North are far from easy.

Division games are wars no matter what division you are in. Just not sure how a Cowboys fan can say the NFC North is so easy to win. That is how this whole lame debate got started.
