So I guess the Eagles and Packers are not good teams?

Because he won those games (in case you missed you that fact).

Yes, he needs to always be improving. But you are acting as if he is Quincy Carter out there. Tony Romo is as good as any QB in the league, and he is constantly trying to improve himself. Remember, Eli Manning won the Super Bowl last year. If Eli can, then Romo can. You think Eli makes less mistakes than Romo?

What needs correcting now? That he hasn't won a playoff game? That can't be corrected now so quit using that as the ****ing measuring stick.

You are clearly out of your damn mind if you think the mistakes are not taken seriously by Romo and Garrett. Obviously you have never heard Tony talk one time if you think this guy has a big ego and has sunshine blown up his ***. After the Eagles game, in the interview, all he could talk about was how upset he was of the mistake and wanted to keep it from happening again.

Brett Favre won a Super Bowl. John Elway did. Roger Staubach did. All of these guys are gunslingers who tried to make plays (and often made mistakes). Quit acting like everyone has to be an Aikman/Brady efficiency clone in order to be any good.

I don't know that I agree with the Elway and especially the Staubach comparisions.

Favre has only won one Championship, to date. This is possibly the most maddening thing to me. He has/had the kind of physical skills to win multiple champoinships. He only won one, in large part IMO, to the fact that he played a very undisiplined brand of football. I mean, that's fine. He is what he is and there are plenty of very good QBs who will never win a championship.

Elway, well, he played on inferrier teams much of his career IMO. However, towards the end, he played on some very good teams and he limited his mistakes from the past a great deal. He played a smarter brand of football, so to speak. Only then did he win his championships. Roger, well, I never viewed him as reckless or careless with the ball. He did run and scramble a great deal, especially early on but he was not one, especially in his later career to throw the ball into coverage. I just don't remember that about him.

Do you realize that if Tony does that, then he loses so many of the plays that make him great? So many of the amazing things he has done which have helped us win games is because he tries to make plays? Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

You can't have all those amazing plays and have him embracing the "throw it away" rule. He is making those plays because he is not throwing it away.

Brad Johnson will throw away the ball like mad. But Brad Johnson won't make the plays like Tony does.

So decide what you want. Do you want a bus-driving efficiency king? Or do you want a gunslinger that keeps defenses on their heels?

There is no doubt what kind of QB Romo is. If you want him to be a bus driver, then you are asking to quit making great plays.

I don't accept the premise. He should reserve the right to be creative when the conditions and field position permit. Low percentage plays when you're already in FG range, or when your opponent is, are stupid.

Tony's got to be aware of where he is on the field and when a chance is more likely to hurt the team than help it. And I bet he'd be the first to admit it.

Tony was off, but I have not had this much confidence in a QB since Troy graced the gridiron.

Think about what the Cowboys and us as fans have gone through to get Tony Romo leading this team.

I'll agree that Romo has to make better decision in the red zone. That's obvious. I think it's possible that he may know that as well.

As a poster already said, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Tony Romo is flat out a great quarterback.

Yet it happened a few minutes into the next game.

PS - Roger was very disciplined and NEVER made bone-headed throws. You might want to lookup his stats (ints, fumbles, etc.) and you clearly never saw him play. Elway was covered above & Farve (who single-handedly blew a chance at a superbowl last year with DUMB UNNECESSARY PICKS)

Maybe it's just me but my thoughts are that simply playing in his home state for the first time with family and friends watching maybe got to him a bit. Maybe he was just trying to hard put together an awesome show for them which just lead to mental mistakes. One off game does not mean a start of a trend! Good teams always find a way to win, which they did. Look to him to make up for it against the skins...

I agree with this post. There are a great many things that we can appriciate about Romo. Madden said during the game that Romo can make plays that very, very few in the History of the game could make. That is very high praise indeed.

However, it is not a criminal thing to see the weakness in his game, at this stage, and discuss it. As you and other's have said, I doubt it is something that Tony himself has not identified as a potential problem. I'm certain everybody is trying to work on it and there is clearly a reason for that.

No, but a Cowboys fan was just talking on Sirius radio and the host said "I'm sure you're like me and when you see the pass rush coming, you say 'here comes another Romo mistake'" or something to that effect.

Not me, every time I see Romo scanning the field, I say "Here comes another big play." Truthfully. The guy is money.

Can I change my position in this thread so I'm not lumped in with anything Johnny Mac thinks, ever?

I'm all for red zone turnovers if that's what it takes.

Ranking on Romo for his redzone blunders beats the hell out of watching Quincy Carter taking the snaps - keep it in perspective . . .

I'm Roger's biggest fan. I think he is the greatest player to ever play in the NFL, and I've repeatedly said as much on this board (and to him).

But even I cannot say he "never made bone-headed throws." Yeah, he did. He pretty much averaged an interception a game trying to make a play. IN Super Bowl X, Roger threw 3 pics in the big game, including one at the end of game in the end zone. Hell, in one game in 1975, he threw 3 INTs to the same guy (Roger Wehrli). Moreover, he'd take a couple sacks every game that he didn't need to while trying to make a play (instead of throwing it away). Roger was great, but the great plays were a result of the fact that he would try to make things happen (and sometimes have problems like Tony does).

Ever wonder how it was that he got the opportunity to lead so many fourth quarter comebacks? Because Roger would have rough games and pull it out in the game. Romo is the same way.

There is a whole of Roger in Romo. There is a bit of Favre in Romo. The guy makes things happen.

Handle your own truth rocket.

Your premature ejaculations are weak and boring. Maybe you can use that Campbell jersey you have lying around to clean yourself up.
