Lost in the layers of stories last week was a very disturbing reality against Philadelphia.

And I think it played a big part in Dallas losing the game.

Brandon Graham flat owned Tyron Smith. I mean, he beat him virtually every single time. Every time there was a big play coming, they'd throw Graham over there, and he'd go around Tyron like a traffic cone.

For all his great attributes, Tyron has games like this against certain players. I sometimes wonder if he isn't the RIGHT TACKLE on this team, and that another left tackle should be brought in.

Ummm. 2 plays he got beat in a game and now you want to move him to right tackle? We are talking about Tyron Smith here? The same guy Collingsworth said may be the best LT in the game? I'm going to go with leave him where he is.

Been waiting for this thread. Smith did get beat but to say he got owned is a little over the top. He is a very very good LOT and moving him to the right side is certainly a possibility. But do you really think we could replace Smith with someone as good? He is still a top LOT and there are only a handful (maybe) even capable of replacing him. We are lucky we have one of the best and I'm keeping him on the left side. On the right side we need to find out about Green the rest of the year and go from there.

Folks, Graham was moved around and went in and out of the game. Yes, Tyron was moving him on running downs when he was there.

But on pass plays, Graham was giving Tyron fits. Just couldn't get his hands on him. They were able to provide help for him with backs and tight ends, but the point stands.

Over-reactionary, perhaps, that's fair. But Tyron played right tackle in college, and I wonder if he'd be even better on that side.

This is hardly the first time that Tyron has struggled in pass protection against quick defensive ends.

I can guarantee you beyond a shadow of doubt, that Tyron Smith won more battles with Graham than he lost. He absolutely stoned him several times.

I would agree that we need to find out what we've got in Chad Green but it might not be possible to get an accurate picture of what he is capable of until training camp next year. It'd be nice if he could at least show promising potential before this year is history, though. Hopefully, he'll be able to clue us in on that very soon.

I agree about finding out what Chad Green can do for us at RT. He might not be able to perform up to his full potential until next TC, however. I'd like nothing better than for him to show potential this year, though. Here's hoping he'll manage to flash a decent measure of promise before this season is history. If not, we may have to wait for TC for that to happen. We'll see. I wouldn't be too surprised if we drafted another RT in the meantime.

players do have bad games. but is it a cause for concern? cox destroyed Leary last yr in the first matchup, and leary returned the favor. Tyron humiliated anybody over him in week 2. You dont think teams are telling their passrushers to pin their ears back and go after Cassell? Remember no Romo back there. You dont think Romo not being out there is having a domino effect? A lil more thought should be required when posting doom threads, especially about this OL.

It was 2 plays and it was the same move by Graham on both. Obviously you don't want to see your starting LT get beat on the same move twice but I'm not chalking this up to be a big deal.

It's also worth noting that the Cowboys seems to have a little more trouble schematically against teams in 3-4 and hybrid defenses. They're still learning to play together it seems.

There was one play where Tyron totally misread the rush and allowed the OLB to come free, untouched, while he doubled the DE with Collins. That was more troubling to me, the lack of communication, than Graham beating him a couple times.
