Lost in the layers of stories last week was a very disturbing reality against Philadelphia.
And I think it played a big part in Dallas losing the game.
Brandon Graham flat owned Tyron Smith. I mean, he beat him virtually every single time. Every time there was a big play coming, they'd throw Graham over there, and he'd go around Tyron like a traffic cone.
For all his great attributes, Tyron has games like this against certain players. I sometimes wonder if he isn't the RIGHT TACKLE on this team, and that another left tackle should be brought in.
This, I believe, is the major problem with fans: The negative leaves a much stronger and lasting impression than the positive.
Smith had a couple of bad plays against the Eagles out of about 70, but all some remember are the couple of bad plays.
Smith's play against Philly is an easy example of this, but the same thing is done with most player.
Player A misses a tackle in the open field on a TD run so Player A sucks.
Player B drops a pass on what would have been a big play so Player B can't catch.
That doesn't mean there aren't some players who need to be replaced, just that our view of their play isn't always realistic.
