Am I the only one who thinks this move doesn't make sense based on the safeties we currently have on the roster?

I mean, Keith Davis is like a bad imitation of Roy Williams, but is the best option without Williams, and Davis isn't even under contract.

The only ways this move would make sense are if Dallas has another safety in mind to bring in to replace Williams or if the Cowboys are going to move Henry to free safety and Hamlin to strong safety.

If it's the first option, it wouldn't be a good idea to get rid of Williams until we had his replacement in hand. If it's the second option, then we will have to rely on Jenkins or Scandrick to replace Henry as a starting corner and only be carrying three "reliable" corners.

Mosely is on GAC right now. He says the Cowboys are trying to trade Roy Williams, and will release him if they can not.
so basically he's gonna get released

Keith Davis is better than Roy Williams.

Yeah, that's what I saw: A guy who is just as bad in coverage, but also isn't consistent playing the run. I like Davis; he gives it his all, but he's not an improvement over Williams.

he's the same thing as Roy but with less talent, more heart, and a lot cheaper.

:laugh2: If he's cut/traded you can bet that we are drafting a safety in the 2nd round. That's just a given.

I am curious are people happy that roy is being cut because it is news and something new to talk about or are they glad to get rid of him?

For me, if williams is released or traded I think it will be very bittersweet. he is one of our homegrown players and essentially one of us. It will be a very sad day. I have called him on some of his poor play as much as anyone, but I am still very much a fan of the guy.

he is a good guy, a really good guy actually and he is a good locker room guy.

For me, he really will be missed. I hope if this happens he is picked up somewhere and has a great career.

I don't want to see RW cut. I could list atleast 20 players that should go before him.

Moving Hamlin to SS is going to be even worse because hamlin can't tackle he can't recover fumbles apparently and he's worse than RW in coverage same goes for that bum davis. RW is miles ahead of our other safeties and if he goes to another team he will demonstrate it and once again people will blame JJ for getting rid of him and etc etc etc.

Wrong he just doesn't get crucified for mistake that aren't his part. Same goes for Hamlin.

I like Delmas. If he's gone too I'll be pissed..I don't want Chung scraps.

We need to make moves for Smith or Delmas regardless. I doubt we sit still at 51

But that doesn't mean we'll be drafting a starting safety in the second round. There's a lot of risk involved going that route.

Do you know anything about Chung...Honestly

Nope I only watched all his games last year and he's in in-the box safety. We already have one of those guys. He got torched against USC,Cal Stanford and Arizona last year. Made some good tackles at the line of scrimmage though. I'd take him as a LB;)

Who ever thought that possible a few years ago?

It's not possible it's people perception that doesn't make it reality. People need to learn there's a difference between the two. Unless of course you guys are the type to believe everything you see? KD is better than RW in what way ? There's no statistical evidence that can prove such a claim.
