I remember hearing "NFCE is the worst division" a lot.
The NFC in general is pretty suspect.
All 4 divisions seem to have their warts, but it seems the East is the most improved..... so far anyway.

You mean when Dallas beats them in the SB. Be specific. :D
Most likely in the AFC divisional round to be specific. Some team with a better defense will show up and make Allen and that bad o-line eat dirt.

Buffalo is the only team in the league not to have caught the "we have consistent scoring issues" bug.

After merely 5 weeks of play, there are only 6 teams remaining in the NFL with 1 or fewer losses:

5-0 Philadelphia Eagles
4-1 Buffalo Bills
4-1 Minnesota Vikings
3-1 Kansas City Chiefs
4-1 Dallas Cowboys
4-1 New York Giants

Of these 6 teams, only 2 of them were expected to be this good, this early in the season - Buffalo and Kansas City. The other 4 are all NFC teams that are playing better than expected. Even Philadelphia, who many expected to rise to the top of the NFC East this season, wasn’t expected to be undefeated 5 games into the season. The catch for the Eagles is that they still haven’t played either of the two teams nipping at their heels in the NFC east.

Next Sunday night will be a good test for both the Eagles and Cowboys. But neither can write off the Giants, who finally have a coach who knows how to put his players in situations where they can win.

The good news for the Cowboys is even if they lose Sunday, their offense is slated to get even better when 4 injured Cowboys offensive players return from injury - QB Dak Prescott, HOF LT Tyron Smith, HOF Olineman Jason Peters, and WR James Washington. If the Cowboys can return to their league leading offensive production from just a season ago, this team might become just as frightening in the NFC and the Bills team is in the AFC. Could a 3rd Super Bowl between the Cowboys and Bills be in the offing?

P.S. And even the Cowboys Defense, as good as it already is, could become even faster with the addition of speedy and talented rookie LB Damone Clark.
too soon ive seen 6-0 teams not make the playoffs. have to finish strong.

this list will change in 8 weeks and for good reasons around 12-13th week we will know who the true contender and pretenders are.
We might not even know at that juncture in the season.
Week 13 there will still 5 games left for all but two teams.
Why are Arizona's and Carolina's bye weeks during the first weekend in December?
The last bye week any and all NFL teams - for every regular season from now on - should be two Sundays before Thanksgiving.

Returning to the topic - I have commented a couple of times on previous threads - I think the best regular season records for 2022 will be 12-5 tops.
From viewing games so far one third into the season --- I have no inkling that there are 2 or 3 teams that are going to jell, becoming dominant for a solid championship push.

No, Buffalo is overrated and their QB is vastly overrated and will crumple like a lawn chair in the playoffs as per par. It will be Mahomes and the Chiefs.

I hope the Bill get teams up there in the cold in the playoffs.

I have not looked at their schedule to see.
We will see. I don’t care one way or another. Until that time comes. I am rooting for the Jets to take that division in an upset. Or the Dolphins.

Both Mahomes and Allen have special arm talent. The NFC doesn’t have any QB’s that can match them. The NFC has old QB’s in Rodgers and Brady that might be able to beat them with veteran savvy. And the NFC has some defenses that might be able to slow them down. But those two, along with the kid playing for the Chargers, are the best young QB’s in the game.

P.S. I never liked Sam Darnold in Josh Allen’s draft year, and Baker Mayfield benefitted from the success of Russ Wilson (another short QB). But I would have taken Allen over Mayfield, Darnold and the kid from UCLA that year if I had been the Browns’ GM.
It is quite a bit harder for a shorter QB in the NFL.

The NFC is certainly wide open. No teams are dominant on both sides of the ball. If the Cowboys defense can continue to improve and the offense at least returns to the middle of the pack, look out. Great Defense travels better than great offense which is why defense is so important come playoff time.

We’ve only played 30% of the season and the NFL is the most unpredictable league in sports. It’s too early to declare anything except who looks good now. A ton of football left to play.

Everyone keeps saying how great Mahomes is and how he carries that team, but let's not sell Reid short, they guy is one of the best coaches in the NFL.

Josh Allen last year in the playoffs (2 games)

  • 637 yards passing
  • 134 yards rushing
  • 9 TDs
  • 0 Ints
  • 48-62 (77%)
  • QB rating of 149

:omg:

That is freaking scary. And to think that they got beat with that level of QB play. If Dak did that in the playoffs I would defend him to the death. But instead we get the QB slide to end the season. Good grief.
